ham and swiss cheese sliders

At our school we have a day where we just bring in food/snacks and you can graze and eat all day.  I just looked at list and there will be a lot of dips, cookies, desserts so I thought I would bring sliders.  Has anyone taken those to a potluck before?  How did you keep them warn and not soggy?

I can bake that morning while I'm getting ready for school and would like to put in crock pot on warm but was afraid by lunch time (if there are any left) they would be soggy.

TIA for any suggestions.

Re: ham and swiss cheese sliders

Are you talking about the ones made with the Hawaiian rolls? They are always a big hit. They are even good at room temp and do not get soggy. I think it is a great idea, go for it.

I made those recently for a group gathering and they were a hit. Maybe you could keep them warm by wrapping in foil and then put them in an insulated container.

I would not try to serve them warm.  They probably will be better served cold with some mustard/mayo combination on the rolls.

I'm considering serving that same easy-to-hold and easy-to-eat  combination for a party I'm having later this month.  I would use a grainy-type mustard mixed with mayo as a spread on the slider-sized roll, and maybe add a slice of sweet or dill pickle in the sandwich.

When I make these I wrap them in foil to bake, they stay warm for quite a while.  Do you have a large 'hot plate' that they could be placed on?  I don't have any experience eating them cold.

I have also served them at room temp and they are still delicious.  I either use King Hawaiian rolls or Sara Lee has a Hawaiian roll now which is very good.

Those are so good!! I would just take them warm and, as others have said they stay warm and good for a long time. They will still taste good when they cool down. Also, if there is a microwave in the room anyone coming later can just pop them in there for a bit and easily warm them up. I made those just a couple of weeks ago and we all wondered why I had waited so long to make them since the previous time.

@wonderfulworld If you go on Pinterest you can find it. There is also a version using roast beef and provolone cheese.

Re: ham and swiss cheese sliders

Thanks everyone......think I will just wrap individually in foil after I take out of oven.  I have  one of those 9x13 pyrex carriers......maybe that will keep them warmer.  There is a microwave in room but not sure they will be able to get to it because of all the crock pots, trays of goodies, etc.

I just googled ham/swiss cheese sliders and use one of those recipes.  I think the one I usually use has dijon mustard and mayo.  I go light on the poppy seeds.

I did see the Sara Lee rolls....I'll have to try them sometime.
