grocery pickup delayed (not ready at scheduled time and I do not drive at night to pickup at time it would be ready). anyways i told him that I could pick up same time next day. His response was "even better." so I got the order and most fresh produce was frozen. money was refunded immediately and i was told no need to return items to store. so i'm trying to find use for these:
avocados: bought for slices in salad but i will make guacamole
onions: saute and freeze
russet potatoes: these were first clue of problem as they were dripping a dark murky liguid. to soft and small for peeling. will these work as mashed potatoes?
lemons: i read you can freeze and grate the whole thing to use in cooking
ginger: freeze and use in smooothies
kiwi:
any ideas? Thanks

@mizree- I would not use those potatoes for anything. If they are leaking any liquid, they have or are going bad. Cut one open and see what color the inside is and if they smell. Better to be safe than sorry. Throw them out.

My first thought on the russet potatoes dripping a dark, murky liquid, is that it's simply condensation and dirt from the potatoes.
As long as the inside looks and smells like a russet should, they would be fine to mash or fry. Sounds like your order was set inside a walk in freezer.
You can chop and freeze the onions raw.

It's nice to get free produce, even if it was frozen! I commend you for trying to use it instead of discarding. How do you think it was frozen? Left outside or in a freezer?

probably in the walk in freezer as @RedTop mentioned. thank you all for the comments and suggestions.

I would throw away the potatoes. Anything dripping brown liquid is a red flag. I can't eat kiwi so no idea what to do with it; but sounds like you have a good plan for everything else; btw you don't need to saute the onions before freezing; it will make them mushy. They will freeze just diced up fresh perfectly.
