@ECBG --yes I know what cilantro is just never saw it spelled that way. Not a huge fan of it tho.

@wagirl

MUCH better raw.

I got introduced to it cooked in a lovely beef broth with steak in it.  I tasted it and was very, very sorry.

Culantro is different than cilantro.  Culantro has a stronger flavor, and it can be added both during cooking as well as after.

@Mj12 ---thanks for the info! I didn't taste cilantro in that sauce---just a wild guess on my part.

My son does not eat tomatoes. Can you see chunks of tomato in the cooking base? Or are they ground up and not noticable?

@drizzellla  The sofrito is tomato based however Goya also makes a Recaito which is cilantro based so that one might work.

@wagirl  - YES!

It drives me crazy. And if there happens to be a chunk of tomato, he will have to remove any remnants. If he eats lasagna there is usually a pile of tomato sauce left on his plate. He scraps the sauce off, as much as he can. And I make sure it is made with tomato sauce so there is no chunks.

If the canned spagetti sauce has chunks of tomato, I take a potato masher to it. But usually that isn't good enough. I can't make numerous recipes because of him.

Glad things are finally opening up again. He isn't home for dinner as often.
