Sounds yummy.  And festive for the holidays.  Thanks - I'm going to try.

Cranberries float. That's how they harvest them.  flood the bog and scoop the berries off the surface.  Ripe berries also bounce.

another suggestion......

freeze the cranberry juice in ice cube trays. you can do a combination of red cranberry and white cranberry if you like. place cubes in glasses and then top with cold sprite/7up/gingerale. garnish with the sugared cranberries on top.

My mother used to make this punch around the holidays:

1 cup cranberries

1/3 cup water

1/2 cup sugar

4 cups chilled apple cider (I prefer fresh-pressed from the produce department)

2 cups chilled ginger ale

2 tbsp lemon juice

2 cups chilled cranberry juice

Simmer cranberries and water in saucepan until berries split.  Stir in sugar off heat.  Cool to room temperature.  Pour into 2-quart pitcher and mix in apple cider, ginger ale, lemon and cranberry juices.  Best served over crushed ice.
