Does anyone here refrigerate their cookie dough before baking or do you just make the dough and bake?

I refrigerate so the cookies don't spread too much. I made two kinds yesterday, with and without nuts.

I also put the bowl in the fridge between the batches and waiting for the cookie sheet to cool for the next round.  My kitchen gets hot and the batter melts quickly.

@catter70 I do refrigerate it and I put the remaining dough back in the fridge in between sessions to keep them from spreading.

I let the cookie sheets cool off, too, sometimes even sticking in the freezer for a few minutes to help speed up the process.

I never do but I don't have refrigerator room to do so. Cookies that are premade, Pillsbury choc chip etc., are refrigerated. Chilling solidifies the fat, thus they don't spread as much while baking. Chocolate chip cookies being drop cookies do benefit by chilling prior to baking.

I just mix, drop, and bake, but cookies are rarely made here.

I put some on a cookie sheet & put the bowl of dough in the refrigerator while they are cooking. Helps keep the dough cold.

Thanks so much to all of you for your input. I'll do that when I bake my cookies.
