so i am making 2 doz cinnamon rolls for easter brunch at church. i am using a bread maker for the dough. seems pretty good. (did my first trial run this morning). filling was wimpy. only called for sugar (i used brown) and cinnamon.
well the filling pretty much sank to the bottom of the roll when baked. i want to beef it up a bit. ideas? please?

Recipes I've used have you put a layer of melted butter on the rolled out dough, then top wth sugar and cinnamon, and roll into a log and slice.

DH makes the cinnamon rolls around here. LOL!!! They are so yummy. Maybe I can get him to make some but we don't need them. Guess we could freeze some. Here's the recipe he used last few times he made them. He was using a Cinnabon copycat recipe before that.
It makes 15 but they are huge so you could make more depending on size.
YUM!!! Now I'm hungry for a cinnamon roll.
Can't make any now as I'm making oven roasted wings for dinner & they will be in the oven til 5-6.

I spread the dough with 1 stick of softened butter with a spatula before sprinkling and patting down sugar/cinnamon mixture.

I make mine by filling the dough with brown sugar, cinmimon and butter and rolling. Then I put butter, cinnamon and brown sugar and nuts or raisins if I am using them in the bottom of the pan.
I put the cut rolls of dough in the pan on top of the butter and sugar mixture and bake.
When done, I take them from the oven and flip them over on to a dish. All of that gooey goodness from the bottom of the pan is now on the top of my rolls. They are never dry and always sticky and good.

@kittyloo I make alot of cinnamon rolls, and melt my butter, then mix my brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon to make a paste and spread it on my rolled out dough.
