This is what I made for Christmas presents every year.  This cake is waaaaaaay past delicious!

Of course, this is baked in a tube pan.

I taught students that became master chefs.

Re: Your Favorite Pound Cake Recipe- tried and true

Pound cake is my husband's favorite thing and I've made A LOT of them!  I'm not joking when I say that this is my favorite recipe...

He especially likes when I reserve 1/3 of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder, to create a marble version.

@house_cat   Husband loves most things chocolate, so my pound cake recipe I don't make often cause I will eat the whole thing.

But, with chocolate in the pound cake, he would help eat the cake...how much cocoa powder do you use?

@Mom2Dogs

I eyeball it... about 1/3 of the batter and 1/4 cup cocoa powder. Sometimes I need to add a little milk to the chocolate portion of the batter because the cocoa powder thickens it.

We also like when I just cover the top of the cake with mini-morsels before baking it. They get just melty enough to adhere to the cake, and it adds just a little something extra.

@software

I have tasted and made many pound cakes with almond extract.  They're really yummy!

Google Miss Dot's Pound Cake recipe.  This recipe was featured on one of Home Town's home renovation shows.  There is also a very similar recipe called Old Fashioned Cream Cheese Pound Cake.

Personally, I always put a little nutmeg and almond extract in my pound cake.
