I ALWAYS read negative reviews first. If they are objective, factual, and express real opinions, they are much more useful for decision making than positive reviews.
If the negative reviews are written at the 7th grade level, and/or state "this is the WORST purchase I've ever......" I disregard them too.
Sometimes a reviewer's "negative" is my "positive", and vice versa. As long as the review contains FACT, whether the reviewer liked or disliked, I can draw my own conclusions about how something will work for me personally.
Someone else's "opinion" is the least important aspect of the decision making process to me.
