Re: Who is your favorite cookbook author?

My mother's "Betty Crocker" cookbook from the 1950's.  It is loose-leaf pages in a red and white patterned binder.  The recipe pages are stained and marked up from drips and notations in her handwriting.  It is the book she used to teach me to cook, and it is the book I use to this day.  It is one of my most treasured possessions.

@deepwaterdotter, my mother had that same book, drips and all showing. Falling apart, but kept in a plastic bag. My brother asked to have that.  So of course, he has it.

I always like the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks but they don’t make them anymore.

They don't make them anymore?  I have a bunch of them.  Why don't they make them anymore?

Re: Who is your favorite cookbook author?

I have between 250-300 cookbooks, that cover all types of food,  cooking styles, from all regions of the world, and I've read them like novels and cooked from many.  By far and away my favorite most trusted cookbook author is INA GARTEN.

My favorite cookbook author is Ina Garten.  I have her shows on DVR, so I can try new dishes from her cookbooks and usually be able to tune in to cook along with her.

My favorite cookbooks, though, is the Southern Living collection.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I’m not sure why.  I use to collect all their Christmas editions but those stopped about 4-5 years ago.  You can still buy their older cookbooks and I find pretty good deals on amazon or eBay.
