@LindaSal  As another commented, make sure you take out of freezer and put in refrigerator many days before.  I always want mine defrosted totally by Wednesday night so I can clean it and prepare it for the following morning.  There were years I could have taken it out an extra day because it was not totally defrosted. And boy was my hand cold that night trying to take out neck giblets etc.  Good luck. You'll enjoy the butterball.
