My family has been doing this ever since I can remember. It doesn't have a name, but my husband and his kids had never heard of anything like it.
You'll need:
mashed potatoes
pack of hot dogs (the jumbo hot dogs from Omaha Steaks are awesome for this)
mustard
paprika
Slice the hot dogs length wise but not the whole way through. Spread mustard the slice of the hot dogs. Fill with mashed potatoes and sprinkle with the paprika. Broil for 5 to 10? minutes until the potatoes and hot dogs begin to brown. I usually warm up my potatoes ahead or I make instant because broiling doesn't heat the potatoes through.
A veggie or a salad could be served with this for a complete meal. I like to make this for lunch when the kids are home from school. I'm sure you could make different versions of this as well. I'd love to know how you all try this.
