Didn't the fat float to the top and harden when you put it in the refrigerator?  If it didn't harden, what did you see floating on the top of the soup?

I've never had beef or chicken fat not float to the top when it's cold where it's easy to remove.  Just spoon it off.

That's what I do, too. Sounds like maybe she didn't have time to let it cool and then reheat it.

It would have and even I knew that, but I didn't want it sitting in the fat even in the refrigerator.

I always pour off the grease of things I cook into a cup.  Then when I go back to the cup once it's cooked I KNOW it gells, I just didn't want to put it into the refrigerator that way.

Any kind of grease (even a little) doesn't do well in my stomach.

Having your intestines crack open and 'stuff' spilling out will make anyone very careful what they (me/I) put through there!

That's what happened to me.

@ECBG Come on!  You know me pretty well.  You know I don't cook that often.  So, when I do, I like to do 'it' the same way...then I know it will turn out the way I want it to taste.

I'm pretty good friends with the meat cutters.  They've always teasted me about my Filet Mignon (I put it in salads too).

They say, "There she goes again."  According to them Filet Mignon doesn't have much taste, but it works for me.

Hope you are doing well.  Love you.

I'm not wealthy enough to put Filet Mignon in soups.  Maybe when I win the lottery, but I doubt it.

I make everything tomato based.  I also put Spatinni in everything.

I also use the small frozen vegetables.  Most of the time I pick out the potatoes and eat those!

That's what I did today.  My daughter makes roast with potatoes, etc.  It's good but I can't eat a lot of meat.  She knows that.

I should be the size of a toothpick but I find other junk to eat.

Well, I did say I didn't cook that much...clue number 1 (or is that 2)...Ha!

But also if you watch the sales you can get it marked down pretty good.

Also, there's just me to eat the Filet.

I posted earlier that I didn't want to put it in the refrigerator with it sitting in the fat.

I also said I know it will jell when it's cold but I didn't want to put it in the refrigerator.

The main reason I posted it because I didn't realize there was that much difference (with all of the fat) from the pot roast versus the Filet Mignon since I'd always used the Filet Mignon.

I'll never use pot roast again to make my soup.
