Mountain Oysters.

My grandparents had a cattle ranch, and the cowboys loved to grill them when we'd have a branding. Not my favorite.

Yes to Mountain Oysters. I grew up on a ranch and we always ate them the night of the branding. I still live in ranch country and my town has a couple of fundraisers per year where they serve "bull fries" as they're very popular. We went through 6 roasters of them this year. You clean them, then smash them flat with a tenderizer, coat them in a breading, and deep fry them. We serve them with a spicey red cocktail sauce. They're quite tasty if you can block out what they are. Wink Have also had turkey fries but they're not as good as the beef ones.

I didn't cook itbut---fried grasshappers out of a can when I was a kid.
