Re: What is on your menu for New Year's Day?

@doxie1  I've been on a Red Lobster kick lately.

I get all items wood grilled!  We're also getting clamari. DH is getting walleye.

I usually cook seafood.  It will really be nice not cooking.

Happy New Year!

@aroc3435

Unfortunately, he always created happenings like this.Family get- togethers were always unusual to others and entertaining at the same time.  You are right that the washing machine caught all the grit. It had to be replaced. The new machine looked nice in the freshly painted room with a new floor and fixtures. This was after he destroyed a shop vac trying to clean up the mess.

The new machine lasted until he tried to wash Jerusalem artichokes in it.

The salmon sounds delicious. Do you grill it? Hey the nachos sound good to me too.

@doxie1 My beloved Maman had a saying, "No Wine, No Dine"...giggles...needless to say I inherited that trait.  Smiles.  Happy New Year to you.

@doxie1: I cannot stop laughing. I worked with ladies that swore using the washing machine was the best method. Thank goodness that I had visions of results like you mentioned and never tried it!!! Southern Bee

The Ultimate Roast Chicken (Tyler Florence recipe) served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes with fresh chives, sauteed mushrooms, and roasted matchstick cut carrots and parsnips with herb butter.

Thanks everyone for sharing your meal plans! I have cooked a pork tenderloin, hoppin john, turnip greens with turnips, cornbread , rice, and braised mustard greens. Tomorrow I will just need to heat up, eat and relax! I did cook sweet taters while the oven was going. I have some cranberry gingerale and plenty of chocolate.

The truth is that I am most excited about the hoppin john. It makes my heart sing! I have not been able to eat black eyed peas for a year so this will be a treat.

Now when I finish I may want to stop by your houses to sample your meals!

Pork Roast, mustard greens (hope they're as lucky as collards), black eyed peas, mac and cheese, cornbread and lemon chess pie for dessert.

Fish tacos. Don’t make anything special.
