My Grandmother always made fried pies with Apricots but just not nearly enough.  We were all limited to only one maybe two for the family get together.  Plenty of apple fried pies to go around but apricots always cost more.  She always made both but once did not have enough apricots so just mixed in with the apple, you could kind of taste a bit of it.
