Re: What do you keep your recipes in?

I've never bought a recipe card holder, but I've received a lot as gifts. When I was younger I organized my recipes like desserts in one box, appetizers in another, etc. I also, like you @Kachina624 , inherited my mom's recipe box, which sounds exactly like your mom's, only it's filled with HER recipes! I also like to keep the original recipe cards from family and friends with their handwriting on them.

I still use the boxes, and my cookbooks, but I also keep my favorites and new things I'd like to try in a folder on my email!  Smiley Happy

I keep a file on computer by category.  I frequently take IPAD to kitchen these days.  Also have a 3 ring binder that I have used for years.  I use sheet protectors in the notebook.

@sarahpanda  I have nearly everything in my computer and backed up in the cloud. There are still some family recipes in The Mennonite Cookbook, and I have a folder waiting for me to transfer to the computer. My children are waiting impatiently.

I made a copy of Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book. You can tell the recipes that were made often. The Spaetzle recipe has marks from being taped 7 times.

An older than dirt 3 ring binder note book w/those plastic sheet covers inserts.  Mine is covered in dust since it's rarely used. hidemf3.gif

I do dust it off once in a while if I need to refresh my memory for a reciepe I need.  You know, those "senior moment" times. whistling.gif

I rarely cook since I retired 20 yrs ago.

Plastic sheet protectors - in a 2" three ring binder.

I get email several times a day with recipes.  I save all the email, and print out the ones I want to make in the near future.

Re: What do you keep your recipes in?

I have a lot in a binder  It's a full-size binder and I have the categories separated with those colorful plastic tab things that slide onto those yellow  divider pages.

I put them into those plastic sheets.  One box of those will be a lifetime supply for me!  Smiley Happy

What I like about putting them into the plastic sheets, aside from keeping them pristine, is that you don't have to punch holes in the paper that the recipe is on, as the holes are in the margin of the plastic sheets.

I print them and jam them in my cupboard. It's very messy and I can never find anything. I really gotta get it under control.
