I don't have anything else with my soup, but DH grew up eating loads of saltine crackers in soup.  I can't take anything soggy!

With chili we have cornbread.

My vegetable beef soup is more of a stew and doesn't need anything.

@Mj12    What's a chaffle?  Never heard of it.

Edited to add:  I looked it up - it's a waffle with cheese I think.  but how do you make it (recipe)?   It sounds good.

@Skyegirl21    We don't eat dairy either.  Just thought I'd mention that Trader Joe's makes a really good cheddar  and a Parmesan cheese...they are cashew based.  It is also reasonably priced...they run out fast when it comes in. Love bruschetta on crispy bread with soup...yum!

@Kachina624 , I make a fruit salad very similar to yours.  Once in a great while I'll throw in some mini marshmallows and chopped maraschinos which becomes essentially a dessert.  Wish I had a small plate of it now!
