When I saw Lola's Green Bean salad (which sounds wonderful as I love veggies, especially green!!), I thought of the following. It is from a dear friend's mother, many yrs. ago:
1 or 2 Cans Whole Stalk Asparagus (Usually Del Monte Brand OR Green Giant)
Butter or Margarine
Parmasaen Cheese (can use Romano)
Bread Crumbs
Drain Asparagus from Can. Place in ungreased baking dish. Place dabs of butter or margarine over vegetable, sprinkle with cheese than bread crumbs on top.
Bake at about 400-425 for approx. 25 minutes. Should be slightly brown on top!
