Recently I decided to try the newly offered "unsalted" soups .... better for us, right?  I added it to a recipe tonight and definitely noticed a taste change.  I think this is like using the low-fat dairy products...not the same!  I'm going back to regular soup.  I'll watch salt intake in different ways.

Anyone else try the new unsalted soup?

Unsalted soups are not good, imo. I stick to the tried and true sodium laced  goodness.

There are low sodium soups available too.

I'm not a fan either. The first thing I've done when making unsalted, or low sodium soup is --- to add some salt. Kinda defeats the purpose. But, at least, you can control the amount you add.

I make soup using low sodium chicken broth or low sodium vegetable broth with 6% sodium. It's healthier and tastes better than the high sodium canned soups.

It pains me to eat/use canned anything with all  sodium in it--but I don't overly salt my cooking either. Is easy to shake a little more in.

My husband asked me to pick him up some low sodium soup last winter, then he complained how bland it was. I told him he could add some salt. Lol!!

Wow. I don't use salt in anything I make! Including soup! I season my foods with the herbs I grow in the summer then dry to use year round. Sodium is so bad for you.

Don't like salt.  Hubby will not eat anything that he decides is salted so over time I have become just like him.  It did not start out that way but after 57 years I figured I better go along.  LOL
