You're right - She's definitely entitled to her opinion.

And so are we.

Not everything is for everyone, that's for sure. But the OP is excited about a TJ's opening near her, and asked for suggestions about what to buy. Most of us are trying to help her, not throw a wet blanket over her enthusiasm.

It seems obvious that ID2 only gave a cursory look inside a TJ's, while many of us shop there often. She certainly doesn't have to shop there if she thinks it's all junk food. But the rest of us are simply sharing our experiences and our opinions, and we're more than entitled to do that. I see nothing wrong with saying that we disagree.

Thanks. Wish they would put one close to Daytona. I hear they are talking about putting a warehouse here but no store. One just opened in West Palm and my daughter and I are going soon.

I am lucky enough to live in the midst of half a dozen (literally) TJs stores. It never occurred to me that what they offer/what the stores stock in the Midwest and/or East Coast might be different or not as varied as the goods in my locals - sad, if true, because they have a huge variety on offer, of everything you can think of. No one has mentioned their fruit juices, iced teas, etc. Nice variety of all kinds of juices. Also, although they don't have a large selection of different spices, what they do carry are fresh and half the price of supermarket spices and seasonings. Frozen seafood. Quite a few items that are low carb or lowER carb, diabetic-friendly. I agree that the fruits & veggies are hit and miss. I no longer buy their fruit. On the whole, I love the stores and shop there about every 10 days or so. My employer's Christmas gifts to us are TJs gift cards, and we beg for them!

I understand ID2, I like the Trader Joe's frozen food items but I am not gaga over the store like so many people are. I don't get excited about any grocery store. Now, clothing and department stores are a different story!!!!

We vacation every year near Ponce Inlet. My best friend brought Trader Joe's grocery food from Rochester NY. We were wondering if they were coming to Daytona.

I don't buy a whole lot from there but what I do, I really like. If you like to bake or make candy, they have some wonderful chocolate bars (one pounders I believe) and their white chocolate chips actually contain cocoa butter, and it's all reasonably priced. I buy their flour and also jars of cherries. About the only thing I buy that I don't use to bake or cook with are their triple ginger cookies - for a store bought cookie, they are delicious!

As strange as it sounds those triple ginger cookies spread with camembert cheese are wonderful!

Their almond biscotti are great too.

I get a tub of the Ginger Cats and it lasts forever....great prices too!

As far as I have heard, they are opening a distribution center in Volusia County. I've heard that the only retail stores that are opening this year is the one in Winter Park (tomorrow) and the one in Orlando (fall).

My new favorite things are the Scallion Pancakes, in the frozen foods section.

I keep hearing about these pancakes. What do you serve with them?
