Never thought of mixing a large quantity of beans with a relatively small amount of cheese tortellini.
Seems lilke an interesting way to create a mix of Italian and Southwestern flavors in one dish. Isn't that what some recipes refer to as cultural "fusion cooking"?
Not sure I'd like it but it's a good way to get a lot of nutrition into one soup bowl !

I live in the Chicago area and this recipe was in our local paper yesterday. I was about to post it when I saw that it had been posted last October. So, bringing this post forward instead of starting new one. I made it today and it is very good!!!
