Glad you are back in one piece Tootie!

It started snowing here big time at 1:00. If it keeps up like this, after school time will be a mess!

Walker glad QM is doing well, I'm sure she likes you keeping in touch with her. We have chances of snow everyday, and Friday maybe sleet, don't travel this way!

Don't get me started on crazy drivers...you really have to look out for yourself.

I have not touched an ornament yet...made chicken corn chowder instead and did laundry!

Thanks for the weather /travel tip, bigkat.  That route can be bad.  I don't mind driving it myself in good weather but in winter DH always goes with me.  It does not look good for travel this weekend.  Now we are watching next week...Mon, Tues, Weds.

I will check back with you in a few days.  QM does seem down but I will just have to keep in touch via phone.  Or use QA...ha!

Chicken corn chowder sounds good, bigkat.  Want to share the recipe?  Last night I fixed Clam Chowder and told DH to get ready for more soups.  It is winter!!

Tootie, glad you got out with DM and back ok.  We only have about two months to get through this winter weather.  Hibernate when you can.

See you tomorrow.

Good morning ~  Glad you made it to and from safely, Tootie.  I don't think I could drive in snow or sleet.  I have never driven in real weather before. CA pretty much was the same all year.  bigkat, your chicken corn chowder does sound good.  Doc follow up for my vein ablation this morning then I will be utililznng Tootie's wonderful invention.  Glad I am not up North in the snow!

Good morning everyone!! .... we got our snow later last night and throughout the night ... about 8 inches worth! ... DH was out super early to get the cars and driveway cleared ... cookie, you would be able to drive in the snow once you got used to it (and you can't be a hurry to get to where you are going) ... sleet/ice?? maybe not so much ... that is no fun, so I try to avoid it as much as possible ... and like walker/bigkat say, you have to watch out for the other drivers that think they are on the raceway ...

YUM!! chowder sounds so good ... a warm, comfort food ....

cookie, good luck at your appointment and enjoy your UB's ... that's what I am going to do (after I do my clean up!!)

FHG .. how are things going for you??

Have a good day ...

Oh my---had to call the plumber yesterday. My shower valve went bonkers. At first it was a little drip and I thought shower head but then it escalated. Fortunately he already had a
N access hole from the other shower debacle. He said he had a difficult time getting it changed out. Except for the Wh all my plumbing has been changed. He is a nice young man. I told him one day his mom did a super job in raising a fine young man.

Seeing Valentine's candy is a good thing!!!  That means we are close to February which means we get closer to March and SPRING!!!   Yeah!

Hope your check up goes well, cookie.  How is your DD doing?

Re: Thyme For Fun!

Good morning!!

Kitty and FHG, y'all do have your plumbing issues!! Glad you got it fixed kitty, nice comment you made to him!

Yesterday from 1-4 we had a good 5 inches in the driveway, it was light and fluffy. Driving was a mess, couldn't see far when it was coming down. We had a couple more inches into the evening. Yes, a heat wave!! Low 30s next couple of days, then super cold.

Take care in that snow Tootie! Cookie, you would get used to driving in it...or just don't go out when it's bad!!

It sure is soup time! I made Italian Tortellini soup last week. The chicken corn chowder was inspired by Pioneer Woman's corn & cheese chowder...but I used what I had, she used 5 ears of corn, i used canned (bag of frozen would be good), she used bell peppers, I used carrots and celery, and I used more bacon.

6 slices of bacon, cut in bite size

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 med. Onion, diced

1 c. Diced carrots

1 c. Diced celery

1/4 c. Flour

3 c. Chicken broth

2 c. Half & half

1 can corn

1 can creamed corn

2 c. Grated cheese of choice

S & P, and 1 t. Dried thyme

Shredded, cooked chicken

Cook bacon, remove and save, drain some oil out of pan.

Saute garlic, onion, carrot, celery (season with s&p along the way) until tender.

Stir in cans of corn and thyme

Sprinkle with flour and cook a few minutes.

Stir in broth to thicken, 4-5 minutes

Stir in half & half

Simmer about 15 minutes

Stir in cheese until melted, add bacon back in ( or use for topping), and I added left over chicken, and simmer until heated through.

Needed more S &P at the end...and more cheese on top when serving!!

Oh we bumped Walker. My plumber is a lovely young man. He has a little 18 month old daughter. I am sure he is a loving dad. Hard work on this job.

When I had the issues a few months ago they had left for lunch. He called me to say it was his birthday and they were all having lunch. Would I like something? He brought me back a yummy meal. Nice since I had no water etc. I later met his boss. He was a nice fella. Guys seem to like him a lot.

Isn't it great when you find a good trades person or company!

Ok, I took the ornaments off. My guess was close, but it was 187. What's taking more time is undoing the criss-cross ribbon, not sure I will do that again.
