And...Happy Thursday!  I have to think twice about day.

I did not make it to welcome in the new year...was in bed early.  Good for you, Tootie, to make it.  I assume you did too, kittyfan, just not watching TV celebrations.  I did not hear any fireworks here...maybe it was the cold.

On we go to a new year....friendship and fun....healthy days for all.  🤞🍀 

I am glad we did not fly to FL.  My DB and SIL flew out east for Christmas.  My SIL picked up a bad cold which turned into pneumonia.  She is in the hospital now.  Another friend flew to PA and returned with flu...in bed for three days.  We were in and out with a lot of people but so far so good for us. 🤞 Planes are "germ tubes"...told DH...another reason to fly first class...haha...not packed in with cattle in back.  He said..."we'll drive"...😆.

I will look into this Jury Duty notice again today and respond tomorrow.  I have served twice before.  My first time was a long day...finally picked as juror...lunch break...back in and the lawyers settled case over lunch! What??  Actually, I was glad.  I was called once in NC ...went in but think I was dismissed.  I'm not up to that anymore.

Well, time to move on....no hurry today though and not getting in the car!  Hope you enjoy a restful day....reflect on past year...look ahead to the new year....and be well!

OH HAPPY DAY .... I just read my Jury Summons and on back is a form to fill out requesting disqualification/dismissal...."I am over 70 and prefer not to serve."  BINGO!  CHECK THAT BOX!  In the mail it goes tomorrow.

That's too bad about your SIL and friend that got sick from flying ... there's just so much going around ... I think your DH was wise in saying "we'll drive"

The 🎇 and booms lasted until after 1 am. Really folks. 

Today I did go to pick up in the dining room.  I wanted black eyed peas and they were good.  

I seem to recall we did the jury duty exercise with Cookie also.  I know I had to sign another form.  Yes they know how old we are. Just more hoops.

I talked to brother bhe was still in his pajamas and didn't plan to change. He did some Amazon orders which he told me about. It's always a surprise when I get the bills!!

I did some laundry today.  I always seem to be washing something.

Happy Friday...day two of new year!  Cold temps here as well, Tootie, but better than yesterday....teens then 20's today...next week 40's..mild week ahead.  

kittyfan, I have never had black eyed peas ...that I remember anyway.....I think they are suppose to bring luck for new year?  I laughed about laundry....it never ends does it? Ha!

Yesterday I got my laundry done and also started moving Christmas decorations to my "holding room" (DR)...I should have them put away by tomorrow.  Not having tree up sure makes it go quicker.  Nativity will be last to pack up.

We are having hot weather. Almost 90!  

Cedar trees are beginning to release their pollen.  Air can be hazy.  I had pines and the pollen was yellow. 

I couldn't find my phone earlier. Yes I have two.  Called in and couldn't hear it. Finally found it.  I hadn't left so it had to be handy.

I had some friends a number of years ago.  I was at their home on Christmas eve. On Christmas day I returned to find the tree down and everything put away. They said Christmas was over.

Good morning friends ... kittyfan, yikes! 90? that's warm!! ... oh  geez, if you're friends took down Christmas in one day, I wouldn't bother putting it up at all! ... at least enjoy the tree and decorations for a while ... 

I'm getting tired of mine and started taking down some of my smaller decorations yesterday ... I did take them down to the basement, only because I had to go down to do some laundry ... walker, as I start taking more down today, I'll put them in my "holding room" too! 😉😄 ... lucky you don't have to take down your tree this year ... I dread doing that!!

Good Morning Friends!  ☕️☁️🇺🇸

Happy Saturday!  Clear but cool 20's weather here ....but 90's is too warm for January, kittyfan.  DH and I did go for a walk yesterday.  I really need to get back to it...when possible.  Only walking I did in FL was at Epcot and Light Festival.  I exercised my arms putting food in my mouth though..🤣.

I moved a few things out of my "holding room" to basement as well, Tootie.  Two trips down...why over-do it...😂....more for today.  I have a friend who isn't in to much decorating.  I don't know why she even bothers...like you mentioned, kittyfan.  She puts things out about a week before and puts away the day after Christmas. 🤷‍♀️ This year her son came to visit so she put a tree up.  Different strokes for different folks, eh?  It is a lot of work but I enjoy seeing my home decorated.  It is a special season.  Good to get back to normal but house seems bare after.

It is almost time to start cleaning out cupboards, closets, etc...ha!  Seems like I just had that dance....especially in kitchen..ha!

Good morning friends ... I got most of my decorations down and into the "holding room" ... some made it downstairs ... I did take the ornaments off the tree and organized them in their tote ... today the tree comes down and the Nativity boxed up ... we'll bring everything down to the basement until next year ... Christmas 2025 is done! 🙁

And now walker, like you said, let the 2026 clean up/clean out begin ... (and as we do, I'm sure we'll find one Christmas decoration that we forgot 😉 ... I know I always do!) ... I'm going to miss my tree ... I have it lit up right now!!

We got about an inch of snow overnight ... more today with a high of 23 ... the Bills will play their last game at home today ... next year they'll have a brand new stadium to play in ... right across the street from 😄
