Hi there......no haircut day for you, Tootie!  Next Friday it is🤞.  I understand being a creature of habit too.  I do so many of the same things on a regular schedule.
 

Quiet day here....I did laundry too and it is all put away so on my second UB...ha!  DH went out to the lake for the day to cut the lawn since DS and family can't get back out until next weekend.  You know DH and lawns so he is happy to go.   And, I enjoy a day to myself! 😉 He is on his way home now...2 hour drive...not bad...mostly country area.

Guess I will read some more of my book.  She had a very hard life growing up.  Not relaxing bedtime reading hearing details on how abusive her father was especially to her mother....good book for daytime reading not when you want to sleep.  But, getting to better part now.

Good morning friends ... walker, I bet your DH was thrilled to go and get the grass cut at the lake!! ... I like to travel on the country roads whenever I can (I call it "taking the scenic route" 😊) ... makes for an enjoyable trip! ... hope you enjoyed your "me" time and got some more of your book read.

I had a nice visit from my girlfriend last night ... we haven't seen each other in a while, so we were able to get caught up with life!! ... 

Another hot and humid day with rain ... just like yesterday! ugh!! if we could only get rid of this humidity!! 🥵 ... and it's just so quiet outside ... when I get the mail in there is no one around, no kids playing outside ... even though it's so humid out, I opened all my windows this morning ... it's a nice 72 here now  but I know in a little while they will have to be shut and the A/C turned on 😏 ... oh well! I'll enjoy the fresh air while I can!

Happy Saturday!  Humid is right!  We are suppose to have some rain today.  I was able to take a walk after dinner yesterday....temperatures tolerable.  Quiet neighborhood too...very little activity.

Tootie, glad you had some "girlfriend time"....special friends never lose something to talk about....like us!😂

So, reading this book about nun....she joins Episcopal church.  I have always known that Episcopal church and Catholic Church were closely aligned.  But, guess I did not know they had priests and nuns too.  Did you, Tootie?

Saturday check in

Yesterday was another whirlwind brother day.  I hadn't talked with him but in he walks at 3.  Bearing gifts. Had been to the grocery and of course his tasks are to put everything away and clear the counters. I had intended to take some items to recycle but I know not to argue with him!   Next task was the doggie door.  He had it on the floor. I am looking at it and the door. I am thinking it is too tall.   Yep he had measured but he set it up temporarily. Ordered another and will return this one when it comes in.   Next he does some housekeeping items.  Goes and gets the vacuum out. I have been asking for weeks to get the filters changed. So he climbs up on the counter and takes the door off.  Vacuumed out around the filter and the cabinet .  Write down size and was going to HD. Well we have a routine. Keys, phone, wallet.  Well I was watching him.  He checked his pocket for the measurements.  Off he goes.  About two hours later got a call from an unfamiliar number.  Then I hear a phone ring. I do have two phones. I have had these for years. I knew he had a back up phone. Well I was puzzled but thought it was on TV.  Then a tap on the door and brother walks in.. Phone in hand and walks to desk to retrieve his phone!  He still had things to do.  I told him he needed to slow it down and smell the roses.  He called me from airport. He had been up and gotten a haircut, gone by church, and filled up rental car, returned cable boxes.  I am sure he is home now.  Son was picking him up.  He will be back early next month.  I scheduled appointment.  I know he has other obligations also.  So I clear any obligations with his schedule.  

I knew the Episcopal church calls their priest father. I knew of a female in my town. She was married but had an affair.  She was moved from that position.  I didn't know they had nuns.  

Oh yes the lawn service!   And GF time.  And haircuts.  I know I am a creature of routine.

walker, I knew the Episcopalion had "priests" but never knew about nuns ... in fact, when I hear the word nun, I just assume that they are in the Catholic Faith (we had enough of them in school 😉😏)

We had some storms overnight ... we could really use the rain though. we've had a very dry July ... more rain this morning but should clear up and we will have an 85 degree day!!

Happy Steamy Sunday in the Sauna!  Ha!  Hot July continues....but, heard we will start August with cooler temperatures...👏.  And, can you believe Friday it will be August already?  🕰️✈️s!

kittyfan, DB needs a personal assistant to follow him around....and maybe tell him when it is time for a break!  In meantime, you just put your roller skates on and roll with him! 😆 OH, BOOO! Can't believe that popped in my mind🙄.

Tootie, so frustrating to lose a post but that load feature sure helps to recover.  Saved me a few times too.  Laughing at thoughts of nuns etched in our minds.  

Another short road trip coming up for Lucy and Desi...leaving Weds for trip to Minnesota...way north.  We are meeting friends from Michigan there for a few days.

Always fun...same friends we met for Mackinac Island a couple of years ago....old friends...best friends.  

No other news....better get myself rolling 😉 for Mass at church or the couch.  Have a good, peaceful day.

Hi there.....hope you are staying cool.  Lazy girl day for me although we did go to church.  Watching the David show now and it is just making me hungry!  Pretty soon this channel will be FVC (for food-value-convenience)..so many food items.  Must be selling.   I have occasionally purchased some good items but not often.  I will say one I tried last year and LOVED was Beatrice Fruitcake mini-loaves.  I am not a fruitcake lover so did not want one big cake.  But the mini-loaves were perfect to try.  SO GOOD! I was shocked. Definitely a different fruitcake.  I have not seen the mini-loaves offered yet but did see individual slices offered awhile ago so ordered them for Dec...great to add to gift bags for a "try it" slice of fruitcake or anytime.

kittyfan I know you don't order much anymore but Tootie do you?  Any favorites?  Jenny Lee breads are good too but have not seen them recently.  My 3A's love the cinnamon bread fixed as French toast. 😋

I am not a fruit cake fan either.   I have only ordered a few things in the past years.  I think most prices are hefty.

Yes I was thinking lots of food also.  

Brother called me last night. His flight was delayed 1.5 hrs due to weather. Then he got home and needed to do a grocery run.  His DW does not grocery shop!  He is a pro shopper so no body starves. 

Cinnamon bread French toast sounds delightful.

walker, maybe on your trip up North you'll be able to enjoy some cool weather ... I still buy some things from the Q ... Squirrel Brand Nuts (especially nice around the holidays) and good old Lock and Lock (but like I mentioned before, they seem to multiply in my cupboards ... ha! I have so many!!) ... I haveThe Perfect Gourmet Pot Stickers on A/D ... we love those!! ... and depending on price or need/want (ha!), I will order kitchen gadgets.

Yes, August is right around the corner ... can you believe LS will be 4 on the 4th! 😯... her party is this Saturday! ...

Happy Monday!  Cloudy now with a few showers in the area.  Big time sauna-day by afternoon.  Summertime..summertime!

I can't believe LS will be 4!  That means BG must be turning 6 in December?  Oh dear....in the blink of an eye they grow up.  😩 

Tootie, I love the Squirrel Brand Nuts too.  But, I ordered some a couple of months ago and had a lot of broken pieces.  I was very disappointed.  They are good!  Made in Chicago area.  Potstickers too....I order occasionally but DH does not care for them so I end up eating all of them...ha!  DIL likes them so I can share with her.  I'm same with Lock 'n Lock and kitchen gadgets...try to resist buying.

kittyfan, DB really does "do it all"!  We have neighbors that husband does all grocery shopping...wife..none!  I thought that was so unusual but now DB too.  Whatever works...not in this house!  We would starve!  😂

Errands this morning and get nails done so better get moving.  I need to get home before sauna kicks in on high.
