Good morning friends ... kittyfan, I watched some of the Carter ceremonies too ... yes! it's very interesting how the military do their "steps" ... I want to watch the funeral on Thursday.

walker, good for you trying to get rid of one thing everyday, that's a great idea!! ... I do the same thing with recipes ... I have so many bookmarked on my computer and printed in a binder that I should go through mine too! ... they sound so good but I forget about them and never make them ... did you get your "speed reading" done?? 😉😊

I did get out to the store yesterday ... it wasn't too bad, weatherwise or peoplewise, ha!! ... I think some didn't want to drive or go out in the cold!!

Another cold and snowy day ... high of 19! snow expected for the rest of the week but so far it's been the light, fluffy snow ... LS will be here today ... Have a good day ... pouring and passing.

Happy Wednesday!  Well...certainly not happy in California!  More fires!  That state is going to burn down.  We have family out there....DH's brother, two nieces and our ex-sister-in-law.  We need to check on them today.  Everytime there is a fire it is worse and worse.  🙏 (UPDATE...heard from friend/ex-SIL...so far she is ok now ...lives near Pasadena...but power was turned off yesterday afternoon to prevent any sparks.  Waiting to hear from DH's brother.)

I also watched some of the Carter services yesterday.  Amazing how they handle everything...timing and precision.  Impressive!  And, up the stairs...wow....well done always!  I plan to watch his funeral as well.  He was a good man.

We went to GS's basketball 🏀 game yesterday afternoon.  His team won!  I like basketball because it is fast and done in an hour! Ha!  Sitting on bleachers...that is long enough.
DD and SIL were there but they sit up higher...not me or I would not get down.  We sit in the lower area with DD's in-laws.  Her MIL and I never run out of things to talk about..ha...while watching game and cheering.

I did not get my speed reading done yesterday and realized I had 300 pages to go...taking it back today.  Maybe I'll sign up for it again.  In meantime, DD's MIL gave me some good recommendations I will try to find.

Goof afternoon

I understand about those bleachers. Climbing the stairs and no cushions!

Oh my the CA fires are heartbreaking. I know it has been very dry there. And I know they have the winds but I don't know if those are seasonal.  Glad your Sil is okay.  

Brother spent all day waiting on the repair person.  Didn't arrive until 4 45.  I know he scheduled tasks.   He called me from grocery to ask a question. Arrived with my food items. He said the store was a zoo.  Tustle over bread!   

We had a laugh about the Christmas gift of the Tidi Bowl!  He did a few things. Said he would be back to put Christmas away.  He didn't realize I had a few boxes stacked ready to put in storage.  I did pick up a few items from clearance. But shopping is done. I still have a tax bill that needs to be paid. Of course April 15 is an issue!  I should be getting tax information soon.  I seem to have a few items that don't come until February. Last year he gathered everything up for the CPas. I had the nagging feeling I was missing something and I was right.  How to be more organized this year.

Yesterday I went to the laundry room early.  I was surprised to find everything occupied.   I went back later. Today I went to the laundry early and was hapy to see no wait.  I intended to wash dog blankets but Mr. Jake had other ideas. 

They changed our forecast to only be cold rain.  I have a Drs apt on Wednesday.  Brother has apts on Thursday.  Hopefully no yucky weather.  

I don't know why zi code is tracked. Yes they ask for DOB.  Again and again.  

Oh Tootie has a busy day.  But she still enjoys her naps.

Good morning friends ... kittyfan, ugh, DB had to wait all day for a repairman?! ... I know sometimes they get stuck at a previous job but that is so annoying! ... I have no patience when it comes to waiting 😉😁 ... laughing at Jake not wanting his blanket washed 😂

walker, good news on your GS winning! I don't blame you for staying low, those bleacher steps are brutal to climb ... happy reading! hope you found a good book!!

What a sad situation in CA ... those fires are just awful! and I heard on the news this morning that now they are also dealing with looters!! they are going into the houses that have been evacuated! ... what is wrong with people??! I hope that the winds die down so they can maybe get a better hold of those fires.

No plans today ... another bitter cold day ... yesterday we had a full day of fun with LS ... (she decided that she wouldn't nap ... rested, but no sleep) and it showed by the time she left here!! Have a good day ... pouring and passing.

Happy Thursday!  Stay warm...stay well.  Thinking of all those in CA dealing with fires...🙏s for them. News coverage is heartbreaking.   Fires and running out of water...😳...so far our family ok but no electricity.

Just saw weather report....looks like January chill is covering your area too, kittyfan.  No wonder Jake didn't want to give up his blanket.

Funny about LS and her nap...well, no nap time, Tootie.  Usually if kids rest they will fall asleep...ha...no such luck.  Bet she was in rare form by the time she got home.  You were probably smiling as you waved good-bye. 

No news....I will watch some of the funeral for President Carter while I prep for dinner tonight.  DS, DIL and 3A's are coming over.  We will watch Orange 🏈 Bowl (GO ND! 🍀) together...at least first half and then they may return home.  DS changed their cable service and lost some channels...DIL not happy....big football fan...ha.

Good morning

California is tough to watch.  Yes looters are a huge problem.  When we had the big fire on my area I worked with a fella. He wasn't home when fire broke out but he raced home.  He stood in his yard (no doubt armed) to protect his property.  Folks driving by scoping out prime targets.   I think of him but have lost touch.  

Yesterday I was in the bedroom putting things away.  Came out to see a shadow.  Thought it was mine then I saw the broom.  Brother in the house.  He fixed me dinner and we talked about taxes. He put my boxes on storage but not without comments. Yes I got carried away with Christmas and now I am back on track. 

I see Carter services back on this morning.  He definitely remained humble and did for others rather than building his coffers.  It is windy there. Makes me chilly.  Boy watching the politicians. Definitely some frosty intersctions

Tootie:  oh no nap.  Yes it does make a difference!

Still looking 👀 for Tootie.  Not much news...just laundry day.  I did get out for a walk...not too bad but I did walk in street....too many icy patches on sidewalk.

We had fun last night with kids over for game.  They left at the half and after that the game really got exciting.  We'll do it again for Championship game on 20th.🤞🤞🍀

I watched the funeral yesterday for President Carter.  I thought it was very nice.  Loved hearing Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood sing but all music was good.  Nice speeches too.  RIP

Good afternoon 

Rain has stopped but it is windy and cold.  I watched the game but missed the end. I was talking to brother. He said he had a PJ day.  He said he picked up some food when he was shoping for me so he was ok.  He had meet Jimmy Carter while working on a habitat house.  He said he was so down to earth.  Services were moving. I enjoyed the sons giving their dads eulogy 

I peeked in at the camera. AC folks there. Guy on truck unloading ladder.  Guy walks off--fells on truck walks to edge and steps on ladder. Oh my made he dizzy watching. 

Was up early and took a shower. Considered doing laundry but will wait.

I slept in today ....after 7AM is sleeping in for me.  Must be that my sleep mode is into winter hibernation.

Hope your weather gets better for you, kittyfan.  I guess January brings a little winter to everyone.
