If your place is anything like our area, you probably didn't hear them because they were floating around in water wings!  This year they truly are "rain"deer.

Wishing you all Peace and Joy.  Merry Christmas.

Hi girls - Merry Christmas!

We had another nigh of heavy thunderstorms and it's still pouring out; temps are supposed to be in the 70s for the rest of the week.  I had planned to pick up some Chinese food for dinner, but I don't think I want to go out in this mess...

Sorry to tell you I haven't heard back from Kathy.  Maybe she's just really busy with the holidays and will get back to us later; please keep her in prayer.

Walker, you've got that right - Christmas isn't always "happy happy joy joy" for everyone; it annoys me that all the media, advertising, etc. act as though it is, basically igoring many people.

Cookie, I called the instructor at the community college to see if he had a student who needed extra money for the holidays, but classes were already out for Christmas break. (Seems like it's a long one!)  He recommeded a friend who owns a HVAC company and said he has the fairest prices around, so I called him. The guy said I should have my unit cleaned so it operates more efficiently and doesn't use as much energy and I agreed, so he went out to look at it....and by law had to shut it down. The heat exchanger has quarter-sized holes in it that are leaking carbon monoxide.  Long story short: He is offering a deal on a new "scratch & dent" unit - $3200 for it, installation, and repairing the ducts, which is a good price...but I don't have it and don't have good credit. So, I'm praying for a miracle - he said he'd honor that price through February.  Thankfully the weather has been warm, and a friend bought me a nice space heater like one she has that she said kept her warm when her heating unit was broken for over a month and the temps were in the 20s.

Hope you all have a peaceful day!

Happy Day After!  kittyfan, I wanted to see that movie, but didn't make it - fell asleep exhausted!  Maybe there's a book.  Our Christmas was very quiet and relaxing.  Friends started arriving at 11am. She made Enchiladas(Ithought she was making Tamales which is diffinately a two person job).  We never saw 72 let alone 80 as predicted, but it was very nice.  SIL gave all the kids roping "lessons" and rides on the John Deere. I tasted a chocolate wine(not a drinker) and it was very Dutch chocolate rich. Maybe over ice cream?  Enjoy the BAT break, Tootie.  Be careful on the roads.

Hi everyone!  Well, the rain has finally stopped, although I now have an indoor swimming pool in my basement which has put out the pilot light in the water heater so I'm without hot water.  The plumber is supposed to come by tomorrow to pick up cupcakes, so hopefully the water will be low enough by then that he can relight it.  Temps are still warm, which I'm grateful for.

Sorry to say I haven't heard anything from Kathy, so I can only assume that she or someone close to her is very ill or something.  Please keep her in prayer.

Hope you all have a restful day!

Good morning ~  FHG, you sure get your share, and everyone else's, of problems!  Here's to a problem free New Year for you.  I'll keep Kathy in my thoughts and prayers.  kittyfan, the Tornado was awful!  A friend was one street away and they were unharmed, but so many were affected.  We had rain all day as well as cooler temps. Blanche and the girls made an appearance yesterday for awhile.  Made my day.  (it takes so little, doesn't it)  No signs of ready to drop or have already.  Big time catch up today to make up for the  laziness of the weekend.
