Good morning ~

Congratulations on your move kittyfan!  Your "little brother" sounds like a treasure and your new home sounds very nice, especially since you can have Jake and Holly.  Love the name - Shady Oaks - reminds me of Shady Pines and Sophia in the Golden Girls😄  I am looking forward to new chapters of some interesting characters.  Your book will be huge!   How nice that the servers are already aware of your wants and needs - similar to the Cafe?  Wishing you a wonderful new journey!  You are still the Queen Bee!🧡

                        

More paper shredding for me today - I had more than I thought and have the last box today.  Took me all morning to get one box emptied.  Hard when some of the letters were personal and tears came to  my eyes.  Oh well, you can't save everything and I have some memories💖

Good morning friends ... can you believe it is September??

cookie, that's what seems to happen when shredding and/or cleaning things out ... you read and reminisce, making it difficult and a longer task ... hope you are/were able to get through it all ... your memories will keep you going.

walker, hope you were able to get things started for your DH's celebration in December ... and did you enjoy your salad? I know you were anxious to try it.

kittyfan, hope you are navigating the halls a little bit better.

Yesterday afternoon I could hear a plane overhead and it stayed there for a while ... I went outside and it was one of those plans that was "writing" in the sky ... he wrote "airshow" and then a picture of a smiley face, heart and butterfly ... I haven't seen anything in the news about an airshow so I'm not sure if those pictures were the "Show" ... it was pretty cool to watch him do that!!

Another nice day here, high of 78 ... laundry for me today ... I've been slacking on that!!

Happy Friday!  Happy Labor Day Weekend!  Happy September!   I feel like life is like a fast motion picture on TV of calendar flipping over.  Year flying by!  Tootie, you are so good to remember birthdays!  I think 🤔 you are first up?

cookie, glad you are getting through the boxes.  It does take time when so many memories are attached.  I always have to ask myself who would want it or save it besides me....usually no one ....so, store my memories in my head and let it go.

kittyfan, hope each day is a good day in your new home and you wake up thinking "glad I moved".  Your dear little brother is a real angel.  Did you sell your former home?  You have been BUSY!!  As cookie says...always our Busy Queen Bee! 🐝  Looking forward to Tales from Shady Oaks now!

Tootie, too bad that plane did not fly over when LG and LS were there.  They would have been amazed and thrilled by it!

Lunch-time with DD was very nice but lunch-salad was a disappointment!  I guess staff changes but salad was not displayed nicely like my friend had....mine kind of a dump salad.  Then I asked to substitute the bleu cheese (not a fan but will eat)...for feta ....well, came with bleu cheese...😠....could have sent it back but did not notice since it was dumped together....needed more dressing...got that with feta cheese on side...server said she had written that order.  And, so it goes.......plans underway for birthday...more on it later....babbling and need to go.

My IPad is going wacky too....ha...it can't keep up with babbling.  Bye for now.

I can't believe it js Septembemr. No .still have my house. I didn't plan to make this move so quickly. Thought I would have more time to sort and toss. Still have much to do.

I was up early for breakfast t. Managed to make the bed around Holly.

Know I am waiting on help to reset cable. I can't reach the biz. Second time this week. I think the TV has a mind of its own..

Portions are controlled but I am eating way too much! I laughed yesterday. I think I had six green beans. I do love vegetables and would have been happy with more!! The new weekly menu js published on Isaturdwy. Boy is there a rush ro grab them up.

There is a lady here who is convinced I have helped her with issues. I just smile and make small talk. Another lady is not oriented at all. She needs to be in another type of care facility. But not my circus. I did

spend 30 plus years in human services so I know the dance.

LOL. I WAS TRYING TO REMRMBER u he name of Sophia's home. I left the pines behind but I do have nice mature trees. This morning I watched the lawn folks. They had their leaf blowers out stirring up dust. I wondered what their v plan was. Well they were blowing leaves around. Blew them unto my patio. Then a young man appears and blows the leaves out. I watched them rake snd bag up a bunch of leaves.

Hello friends ... kittyfan, it sounds like you will get to see a variety of people at your new place ... were you able to get your cable taken care of? ... I laughed at your portion control and the mad rush to get the menu ... 😂 I think you will be very happy there ... is there a community room where you can meet up with others to play a game or just chat? ... are you sleeping any better in your new place?

We were sitting on the patio after dinner but got chased in by a putrid smell of burning wood ... turns out someone in back of us is having a party and is having a fire ... it smells so bad!! ... we even had to close our windows ... so, it's not bad enough we had to deal with the smell/smoke from the Canadien fires this summer but now we have to deal with it in our own neighborhood!! ugh!!

Oh boy, I sure missed some good conversations.  I spent the day reminiscing and tearing up old letters/memories.  Kind of sad.  

kittyfan, sounds like you are meeting some new characters.  Hope they realize what a special lady you are. How are Holly and Jake faring with their new home?  Laughing at your 7 green beans😄  I love them and would be disappointed if I ony got seven.  Hope you are sleeping better.  Keep us informed - you always meet a great variety of different people.  Hope there is no Chatty Cathy at Shady Pines er Oaks.😊

Tootie, too bad the littles missed the airplanes flying over,  maybe more to come?  I have never met a person that didn't like the smell of fires - I love it!  Of course it may be whats burning.  Some folks burn arbage and junk - rotten smells!  We are not allowed to burn anymore due to the dry weather.  Smart move in my opinion.  

walker, sorry about your salad.  When you have a craving for one and it is not what you expected -dissapointment lingers.  Got a chuckle over "Dump Salad"  I love them - if I make them, which I do often. They should have recognized they were serving Royalty♛😃

Good morning friends ... cookie, I don't mind the smell of fires either but the one last night was horrible ... it did smell like they were burning garbage ... it was gross!! and, the whole house smelled like that when we went inside because we had all the windows opened ... we went around and closed them all ... it was that bad! 😠😡 ... sorry you had kind of a "weepy" day going through all your papers ... are you done yet?

Happy Saturday!  Warm weekend ahead here but last night was nice so DH grilled and we sat outside for awhile.  It was one of the good smelling fires...😊....not bad like you had, Tootie.  Remember as kids how we would hold our noses and go PU?  😂

cookie, hope your shredding is done so you won't have such a sad day.....kind of bittersweet with good memories mixed in as well.

kittyfan, does this new place have activities for residents?

Maybe book club or dominoes groups?  I remember a lady at my mother's home who hung around the area that had  a pool table.  She watched....mostly men....play and then started playing herself.  Pretty soon she was better than anyone..,ha!  Anyway, I liked all the different things there were to do for residents.

No news from me ....probably quiet weekend....DS and family went camping....not sure what DD is doing...nothing for them would be good since they are always on the go!

Good evening

Thought I had blocked everything. Saw Jake working under fence. I flew out to call him back. He did lollygag but came back.

Mt friend (she's the one who found this facility--got the prime spot) I had a Dr's apt the following week so arranged a visit. Another friend brought me. She had taken me to the first spot which had too many negatives. She wanted to watch football game. Holly and Jake love having guests. Holly stands on her back legs and waves her paw for attention!!

Green beans on menu. Was happy to see a nice portion.

I know portion sizes are intentional. I have to shake my head over some people's requests. Asking for things not on menu and then have attitude when it isn't available. I think the entitled card is magnified here. If you go to a restaurant you don't argue with server about availabilty!!!
