What a weekend! Happy to see FHG--aka Arlene checking in

Saturday worked the thrift store. Slow until
About 11. We close at 2. Did a lot of sales. All in all a very busy weekend. Saw Christmas items going out but when I went to the Christmas room to turn out the lights didn't see many holes. Still lots in storage.

Sunday went to services. Had altar after church. Lady wanted to go to lunch. Had a wardrobe malfunction so had to change my blouse. Fortunately I had an extra in vehicle. Then it was off to meet folks to travel to a special service. Historic church in the country. My relatives helped when they immigrated from Getmany. The pews were very narrow and I never noticed how low the doorways were. We must be so much taller!!

They had a reception after--so my ride visited and we headed for home. They dropped me off and it was finally home sweet home. It was another very long day!! Today it is home duties. Things don't get done when I am gone non stop! Tried all morning to take care of a reoccurring Christmas order. Finally got that done. I can't believe how quickly time is flying.

L: limeade. Throw in some cherries--yum

Hi everyone......hope you had a good day....no news from me....did laundry this morning and this afternoon met my GD at bus.  Then we came here for afternoon.  Oh my, these grandkids are changing  so fast!!!  My GD is almost 7 and I can really see her growing up...sigh.  She did remember about doing a craft....she was pretty fast at my plan too....made a feather turkey, since Oct/Halloween  is done after tomorrow, told her we should move onto Thanksgiving.  Anyway, nice afternoon with her....what a cutie!

So, what's new out there?   Just a Monday, Monday!?  Kittyfan, you did a lot of good things in past few days. Hope you enjoyed your day at home today.  And, thanks for keeping us in touch with FHG....aka...Arlene.

Bye for today.......have a restful evening.  Dimming lights in our crazy kitchen.

Hello .... it's after 9 already??!! where did this day go?? I got my laundry done too and had this crazy idea to go through cookbooks!! ... I have soooo many and really don't use them anymore. If I want a recipe for something, I go to the computer ... so of course I got sidetracked going through and reading recipes ... I even had a folder full of newspaper recipes ... time to let them go!!

We just had a heavy hail storm!! I actually thought that our front window was going to break ... that's how hard it was ... thankfully it didn't last very long ...

walker, glad you had a fun time with your GD ... they sure do grow up super fast so enjoy them whenever you can!! ... a feather turkey?? how cute!! I remember when my kids were in pre-K, they made one of those ...

kittyfan, you had a busy weekend (again!) but glad that you could stay home today ... I hope you managed to squeeze a couple UB's in ....

Have a good night ... see you in the morning!

Good morning ~  Tootie, I don't have a whole lot of cookbooks, but a few were my mother's and G'ma's complete with notes off to the side. One is a wartime meatless one!  (they are in storage).  I also use the computor and have gazillions of recipes filed.  I also need to clean out!  I still have a couple of recipe boxes with recipes on 3x5 cards.  But, like someone else here who will not be mentioned for my protection, I procrastinate!  Yes she wears a crown!

I saw some video on TV regarding the storms in your area Tootie and was hoping you were not experiencing any disasters.  After a spring like day yesterday, today will be 58/46.

Yesterday's meeting went by fast and I got some answers to my questions.  Aetna will no longer use Walgreen's as their "preferred" drugstore and was pushing CVS.  Don't like it, but I am glad to have a decent insurance plan.  Decent as opposed to nothing!

kittyfan, take a loooooong break!!!  You must be exhausted!

Passing the coffee ~

Good morning friends ....

Image result for happy halloween picture

We are at 42 now and will have a high of 45!! ... cookie, my area is ok, we will have a few showers today ... the towns to the south are getting slammed with heavy rain and flash flood warnings ....

Glad that you go some answers to your health plan and like you said "decent as opposed to nothing" is a good thing ... we have a district here that is squawking because their new contract wants them to pay 10% of their health care ... it is causing a big rukus ... I say just be thankful that you have health coverage ... not everyone has that luxury ... coverage or paying that little towards it!!

Today will be a continuation of going through more cookbooks ... I too, have one from my grandmother ... Betty Crocker Cooking for Two ... pages are off the wire spiral but I can't part with it ...

Have a good day ... pouring and passing ...

ME! ME! I will take the Q, Tootie!  Hmmmm....Q, Q...I'll come up with something.....

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! 🎃👻 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Ha....had to laugh in reference to someone else..."procrastinator"..., cookie!  Me?? LOL!  I do resemble that remark.

Tootie, you and I were on the same "page" recently with cookbooks!  I spent the weekend, during UBs, going cover to cover with a couple of cookbooks thinking I might get rid of them.  One is full of tips ....kind of reference book..so I will keep for awhile......the other I have not used but actually found some recipes I will try.  I have too many cookbooks and try to weed out occasionally.   I have the Betty Crocker, well-worn, book given to me before I got married.  Also, one that my mother wrote favorite family recipes in....plus her recipe box....something very special about cookbooks.....memories and family around the table times!

Speaking of cooking, time for breakfast......have a good day....am wondering how many trick or treaters we will have tonight.....4 bags of M&M's.....will let you know.

Now.....hmmmm......

Q .... Queen's Quick Oatmeal!

I do agree some insurance is better than none at all. I use CVS but not my choice. But again I do have prescription coverage so I shouldn't complain

Oh I love reading cookbooks. I usually will visit the cookbook area at the thrift store. One day I was working and a lady came to check out with her treasure trove of cookbooks. She didn't have quite enough money and was deciding which to leave. Well the sweet lady behind her gave her the money she needed. She was so happy! I have been known to throw in money for folks coming up a bit short! Our prices are very low and many folks look for bargains to stretch their money. Some just enjoy the hunt!

Today is overcast. I thought about venturing out but may not. Tomoorrow I need to do a few stops. Thursday is ladies group meeting. Friday I will help at store and then go to playhouse for a performance of "Clue"! I treated myself to an overnight at a b&b. I have driven by it many times---hope the train doesn't keep me awake!

Happy Halloween Afternoon....👻

Cute story about lady at thrift store, kittyfan, buying books and running short of cash.  I would like to think I would do that for someone else depending on circumstances.  Kind of a feel good moment, eh?  Enjoy the playhouse and B&B this week.  You deserve a treat too!

I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure today....overdue....feel better now.  It was a chilly day to head out in sandals though!

All for now.......will let you know how tonight goes ....hope I am not left with much candy.  Tootie, do you get many at your house?  I am guessing none for cookie since you are a ways off road (?)....kittyfan too?

Bigkat.......still thinking if you......hope you stop by someday.

S .... Snickers are a good treat too!
