Re: Three - Hour Refrigerator Pickles

I will be trying this without salt and using Truvia instead of sugar. YUM!

Will do luvs. My granddoggy is a bullie. He is a rescue dog, and has serious health issues because of evil breeding, but no one could, or would, love him more than we do.

Re: Three - Hour Refrigerator Pickles

These all look SO yummy! However, I can't have the sugar. BlueCollarBabe, do your pickles last longer than 10 days? I'd like to make a lot of jars and give some to my family. Are there any yummy refrigerator pickles that last a long time and don't use sugar?

Thank you!

Hi GmaJewele- i don't eat sugar or salt, so I'll be trying this with Truvia, my go-to sweetener. I USED TO HAVE a delicious recipe for what were called "saccharine" pickles, and they were both easy to make and yummy, but I don't use chemical sweeteners anymore. I plan to make a small batch of this recipe to try, so I'll post my results. If they're tasty, DH and I will probably eat them as salad!

Hi violann....... how wonderful that you granddoggy is a bullie and is also a rescue dog! DH and I love bullies! We had one that made it to age 14 but had a lot of medical problems too. We lived at the Vets office. They do tend to have a lot of medical issues. It sounds like you and your family are really enjoying you granddoggy. Thank you for telling me how much you love him. Please let us know how you pickles come out.

Hi dakotacheryl...... I hope that you get a chance to try them.

Hi GmaJewele....... perhaps you could try using artificial sweetener or the Truvia like violann will be doing. This recipe lasts for 3 months in the fridge.

I think I will try this recipe this weekend using Stevia. violann, is that what Truvia is? I don't like using the chemical sweeteners either. They are so bad for you. I wasn't sure if the 4 cups of sugar provided anything other than the sweetness, but rereading the recipe, it doesn't look like it. I'll let everyone know how they work out! Thank you!
