Teriyaki Pork Chops

4 pork chops
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
pepper to taste
2 Tablespoons Orange Juice (optional)

Set Pork Chops aside. Put remaining ingredients into a saucepan over LOW heat until it bubbles...it will thicken up more later. Pour some of the sauce into bottom of PYREX pan, dip the chops into the rest of the sauce, put into oven at 400* degrees. Turn 1/2 way through cooking (20mins). Total cook time is about 40 minutes.

I like Teriyaki flavored sauces but I don't care for pork.  I bet this would be good with chicken.  I will try it.  thanks for the recipe!

I think it would be great on chicken too, I'm thinking of adding pineapple chunks, sliced green (or red) peppers and onions.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

@LilBitMissty   What type of vinegar?  I wouldn't think apple cider vinegar would work.

@PinkyPetunia...Hi. I have made this with chicken as well It turned out good. But you might want to double sauce as when I made it, I could only use about a pound of chicken.

Thanks, @LilBitMissty   I didn't know which kind to use.  Down here in NC, I always keep apple cider vinegar on hand, but didn't think that flavor would be keeping with the teriyaki flavor.
