Take out Chinese food --- what is a good substitute for white rice?

We occasionally like to get Chinese food delivered. DH likes it better than me but my question is this.  The place we like has really tasty food but they only provide white rice or fried rice.  I know fried rice is not really a healthy choice and white rice is really not that good either.  DH will not eat either one since he is diabetc.  What would be a good substitute that we could use in place of the rice that is healthy and easy, to go with our vegetable dishes that we get?  Thanks!!!

Riced cauliflower would be my choice for a non-rice substitution.

My DH is diabetic and he is not allowed to eat any Chinese food.  It is all very high in MSG and sugar.  He also has heart issues and cannot have the salt in Chinese.  I would never allow him to eat Chinese.  Be very careful.  It is notorious for raising sugar levels.

I'm not diabetic but if I can't eat rice I would ask for noodles.

But I don't think diabetics eat noodles either.

So if it were me, I would ask for extra veggies.

Most Asian dishes are made with a sauce, does he know there is sugar in the sauce?

I have no advice about rice, but takeout food is loaded with salt, fat and sugar in some combination.  Not something you want go near.

I am a diabetic.  When I am invited to dine at a restauant that features Chinese cuisine, I order a large bowl of hot and sour soup (my favorite) and a plate called Fragrant Beef.  I forego any type of rice dish.

I think I'd go to the Chinese restaurant and talk with them about substitutes.

I never eat the rice or noodles with Chinese food.   The only thing I eat is chicken and broccoli, or beef and broccoli, period.

As soon as I get home, I dump the container into a strainer and drain all the brown sauce off, and just eat the meat and vegetable.

My favorite Chinese restaurant serves steamed chicken, beef or pork with vegetables and they have three different sauces to choose from that are served on the side.

I get the chicken with the hot sauce.  I dip my fork in the sauce first before I scoop up the veggies.  I eat very little sauce that way.

If you are diabetic, rice or noodles are going to have too many carbs. I would forgo the starch and stick to the veggies and meat.
