I agree!  When I saw the recipe, and I love a good mac and cheese, all I saw was high fat.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

@KingstonsMom  I give up! Why do you cover with plastic wrap . . . and then foil? Doesn't the plastic wrap melt in the oven?

I haven't made mac and cheese in 20 years and this sounds scary to me!

@BirkiLady

It's not my recipe, but that struck me as odd too!

I've never heard of using plastic wrap in the oven either and assumed it would melt too!

I make my own recipe of mac & cheese all the time, but I've never used plastic wrap on it in the oven, I don't cover mine at all.

david said plastic wrap won't melt if you cover it tightly with aluminum foil...he said it keeps the cheese from sticking to foil....or you can skip the plastic wrap and spray underside of foil with non-stick spray...

@nana59

They also make a non-stick foil these days.

High cost too...real cheese is expensive.

Re: THE FAMOUS Mac and Cheese recipe Sunday

@Carmie  I rarely make mac and cheese because DH will not eat it.  I do use several types of real cheese when I make mine (you are so right, cheese is expensive), but I only make one or two servings--just enough to get my mac and cheese fix.  Then, I am working out like a crazy person for the rest of the week.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Worst case....it’s a lazy cook’s recipe. No imagination nor taste.

No garlic/onion? No basil? No tomatoes?

Just throw as much cheese as you can into a dish &

annoint it with a little bit of pasta.

That’s something a 2yr old could make.

And being worried about ‘sticking’??

Heavens, there’s more grease in that pan than underneath

my car for an oil-change. Nothing’s ‘sticking.’
