Oh, tried this recipe. It was a huge failure, even though I followed instructions completely. I am a gourmet cook.

Sloppy, mushy chicken, nowhere near real bbq.

I think I'll try it with some chicken breasts as suggested in the recipe.  I've also got a smallish pork roast in the freezer that might be good but I'd cook it longer.

Yes, boneless chicken or pork would work @Kachina624  and of course any bbq brand/sauce

I cannot stand meat cooked in a crockpot. I am going to do this with a pork shoulder tonight baked in the oven.

@FLgardener me too.  It was the first time I tried making chicken in the crock pot and it turned me off from ever making any kind of chicken in the crock pot again.

@FLgardener    Why did you edit your post from ribs to chicken after I said I'd use chicken in the recipe?

It sounds to me like its YOU trying to poison the well.  All @Chi-town girl  did was innocently share a recipe.  Your comments are out of line.

I have my shoulder in the oven. I live a Keto lifestyle, so I used Keto ingredients, using the sauce recipe as a base. The sauce was delicious, so I am optimistic this will turn out well.
