Sub. For Celery in Honey Baked Bean soup???

Can I use some celery seed? or Salt?  I' m afraid of salt for making it toooo salty tho

Just the bag you get at their store that has the beans and spices in it

I am going to have to use the dehydrated onion too...I used all my fresh

stuff Thanksgiving or either I just am out!

i would put the ham bone in the freezer until you have fresh onion and celery.

i would also or just run out to buy the onion and celery today or tomorrow......many great soups and stews begin with fresh onions, celery, carrots, and sometimes bell peppers.

For what it's worth, I'd just substitue a minute amount of celery seed.  

 

I'm not an expert cook, but there's always something I don't have on hand and substituing usually works well for me.

After thinking about it, I Know I Did make it just one other time without celery, and it was So Good, still...soooo, Thanks!!!

@Monketoes   I agree with @eddyandme  Just use a small amount--tsp or less--of celery seed depending on the volume of liquid in your soup recipe.  The flavor they lend is very intense; celery seed is a secret ingredient in many of my recipes.
