I found out about Stevia Glycerite from Maria Emmerich's "The Art of Healthy Eating Sweets".

I am diabetic and I can use most sugar substitutes, but there is a lot that is unknown about their effects on gut health, so I limit a "sweet" to once a day.

I tried to like Stevia-it took awhile, but you can't bake with it I found....up until now!

Maria introduced me to Stevia Glycerite: what it is, is Stevia in a glycerine base, so it's liquid. I have used it alone or in combination with sugar alcohols-but I was able to use far less of those.

I bought mine from NOW Foods on Amazon. It was $16 for an 8 oz bottle, but you only use around six drops at a time-more or less according to your tastes.

I have found its not absolutely perfect, but it's a big improvement. It's little finds like this that makes my diabetic life much more manageable and enjoyable.
