I just want to say ~ I made this for dinner yesterday and
both me and my dear husband thought it is probably the
best spaghetti we have had in a long time.
I did do a couple changes though.
I used 1 pound ground beef and 4 ounces each of hot and mild
Italian sausage. I used Prego Italian Sausage & Garlic sauce and
at the last 15 minutes of baking I sprinkled Mozzarella Cheese on top.
This recipe is a winner for sure.
Thanks for posting.

I had never heard of Baked Spaghetti until my best friend's daughter made this version -- the leftovers are good, too. Just cut out a square from the pan and heat in the microwave. I'm sharing this here so you can compare the two recipes.
Baked Spaghetti
(Ann Fields)
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes Makes 8 servings
1 package (8 oz) spaghetti, cooked and drained
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided (into 1/2 cup and two 1/4 cups)
1 container (24 oz) ricotta cheese OR cottage cheese (she used cottage cheese)
1 pound ground beef
1 jar (about 28 oz) chunky garden-style pasta sauce
1 package (8 oz) shredded Mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 400° F. Line a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with foil, with non-stick side toward food.
Combine hot cooked spaghetti with butter; stir until butter melts and coats spaghetti. Add 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese; stir to coat. Arrange spaghetti in an even layer in foil-lined pan. Spread ricotta cheese cover spaghetti. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Brown ground beef, drain; add pasta sauce and heat until bubbly. Spoon over cheeses. Top with Mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese.
Cover with non-stick foil. Bake 30 minutes. Remove foil cover and continue baking 15 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Welcome back LilBit!
Your recipe sounds very tasty. I'll just have to remember to cook the pasta very al dente so that it doesn't get too mushy while baking.
