This isn't a recipe but decided to post it here. I'm not southern so I have never had sweet tea ( I have heard about it). I signed up at I think Hungry Girl, for a sample, I was sent one teabag of the peach flavor. You make this with cold water, let it steep for 5 minutes and add ice. It comes in single serve or family teabags. It has zero calories, sweetened with Splenda. I thought it was good and ordered the peach, original, and half tea half lemonade.

Real sweet tea is made with brewed tea and simple syrup you make by heating sugar and water together. It is really sweet and delicious!!! Pure Leaf Extra Sweet Tea is the closest thing I have found to it.

@Renata22, I don't think so, this was weeks ago. Maybe if you Google free sample Southern Breeze Sweet Tea something will pop up.

@Jordan2  Your post made me laugh. For years my sister and nieces in Tampa would talk about "sweet tea." I simply though they meant sun tea until I read The Help.  Suddenly, it dawned on me that there was something else about the tea the Southern women were drinking! Called my youngest niece and asked about "sweet tea" and found it is full of a syrupy sugar mixture! No wonder they never drank my sun tea when visiting Lincoln. Smiley LOL  (I've since tried it; not a fan of all that sugar in perfectly good tea!)

@Jordan2

Thanks. I looked it up and found the tea. Didn't want to pay shipping and didn't want to order $30 to not pay shipping. I'll try it sometime maybe when she's running a special.

@Renata22, when I got the sample it was attached to a card, the card had the promo code SAMPLEFREESHIP which allowed me free shipping on my $15 order. You can give it a try and see if it works for you.

Re: Southern Breeze Sweet Tea

Sweet tea is a staple in every Southern home.  We always had a pitcher of tea in the house.

I didn't use sugar syrup, I just put the sugar in the pitcher and poured the warm tea, after steeping, over it.  Heaven in a glass!

Re: Southern Breeze Sweet Tea

Walmart sells Southern Breeze Sweet tea and variations of the original flavor. It is shown online and I will check out the stores the next time I go.
