Boop,

Not sure what part of the country you live in- Wisconsin companies for Smoked Sausage links - the great tasting brands in my opionion are Johnsonville Beddar with Cheddar, Hilllshire Farm Cheddarwurst or Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage Loops.

I "love" to make them with fried Potatoes (combine both Sweet Potato and White Potatoes) and either corn or baked beans.

MMMMMM----now I need to go get some!!

It all depends on what YOU like. There are MANY, MANY kinds to suit all tastes.

I happen to like Cajun andouille sausage. Cavanaughs Smoked sausage from Sam's is also quite good. I get 36 pounds (a mix of both spicy and mild) for a December pot luck, and it disappears within 15 minutes after being plated.

If you are in a location with a smokehouse or an abattoir who processes venison, you may be able to work with the owner of the deer to get some sausage. Venison sausage is quite good, and most places that process it have their own home-grown recipes. They don't usually advertise - strictly word of mouth. Ask at your local farmer's market. They often have farmers who make their own sausage.

Look around for a German butcher shop; they often make their own sausages.

At Publix

I cut these open and brown to make Sausage and Gravy. Yummy!
