I have no idea where I got this recipe, but it is very good. The notes are from my personal file so that I remember what to do. None of you probably need them, but if you do, they are here.

Swedish Method of Making Oatmeal
1 cup old fashioned oats
3 tablespoons powdered oats (see note)
3 cups water
pinch salt
Put all ingredients in pressure cooker and stir to combine. Press hot cereal button.
Yield 3 servings.
Daughter likes hers with 1 teaspooon maple syrup.
I sprinkle mine with chia seed.
Both servings with half cup berries and half banana.
Note: buzz a cup of dry oats in blender or food processor and keep in sealed container until needed. Source: Purewow

THANKS! If you have a rice cooker check and see if it has a setting that will work. We can set ours to come on in the morning. You might not have noticed.
Don't ask how I know that! LOL!!!!

First, this recipe does not do well when cut in half. Also, make sure to use one of the larger slow cookers since food needs to have enough space in the cooking vessel to cook well.Servings: 4 (it is 3 servings for us)Prep Time: 10 minutesCook Time: 8 hoursI try to start this no earlier than 10 p.m.Ingredients:1 C steel cup oats4 C water1/2 C half and half1 T maple syrup (the real deal), more if you like but it will be very sweet1 T brown sugar (more if you like it really sweet)1 tsp vanilla extract (use vanilla paste for a more intense vanilla flavor)1/2 tsp ground cinnamonI also add a pinch of saltToppings added after cooking, if desiredDirections:Spray slow cooker with non-stick spray. Whisk together all ingredients in the slow cooker, except for toppings.Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. (I check as it gets closer to the end of cooking to see if more liquid is needed, and I do stir it several times before it is finished.)
This sounds like a variation of a recipe I got a few years ago on this forum. I add chopped apples and dried cherries to the crockpot. It's great on a chilly morning!

After the first autumn frost, I make a variation of this quite often. My husband sticks with cold cereal, but a batch of this hits the spot for a couple of mornings.
