Slow Cooker BBQ Dr. Pepper Baby Back Ribs

1 Rack Baby Back Pork Ribs

1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder (I left out)
1 Teaspoon Hickory Liquid Smoke
1 Cup Barbeque Sauce
12 Ounces Dr. Pepper
More BBQ Sauce For Serving

Remove the sinew from the ribs (White slimey thing on the rounded back part of the ribs).  I do this lifting an edge of it up with a knife then grabbing it with 2 fingers.  If your lucky the entire thing will come off in one pull.

Cut the ribs into 4 even sections or in half depending on your portion size.

Add to the slow cooker.

Sprinkle over the pepper, garlic powder, and add the liquid smoke.

Drizzle over the barbeque sauce.

Pour the Dr. Pepper in.

Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours without opening lid during cooking time.  About 2 hours in I did add additional BBQ sauce.

Yummy!

I saw a recipe for chicken on the grill.

A jar of peper jelly (warmed) mixed with a tablespoon each of mustard, honey and vinegar.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to

Let me introduce you!

you can find it on the aisle with other fruit jellies.

There's red bell pepper jelly and green bell pepper jelly, also jalapeno jelly.

For an appetizer, you can warm it and pour it over a softened brick of cream cheese.  Then use it as a dip for crackers or veggies.

The jelly has a little kick but nothing unbearable.  It's also sweet

In my world, it's used often at Christmas because of the color - red & green

I see it called for in some BBQ recipes also.
