Forrest Wolf,I printed your recipe for an event in June, but I messed up and bought a gallon of tomato sauce instead of katsup, back to the store it goes.

Thanks for the recipe, this will be great to feed alot of people along with side dishes.I'll use my trusty big old Nesco.

Here ya go; I've tried many recipes, but this is my favorite. It's fast and easy, and tastes far better than the canned stuff:

Sloppy Joes

Ingredients:

1 pound lean ground beef

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard

3/4 cup ketchup

3 teaspoons brown sugar

salt to taste

ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper; drain off liquids.

Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

NOTE: For Sloppy Joses, add some chili powder (to taste) and some jalapeno peppers.

Made your recipe and loved it. Thanks for sharing.

My aunt, many years ago, owned a roadside ice cream stand that also sold Sloppy Joe's. People used to drive for miles to enjoy one of her sandwiches. She gave my mother the recipe and I still use it.

1 lb of ground beef

1 cup onions chopped fine

1/2 cup ketchup

1 Tab. Vinegar

2 Tabs. Sugar

1 Tab Worcestershire Sauce

1 Tab. mustard

Brown the beef with the oinions, pour off fat and add everything else. Let simmer until flavors are incorporated...and enjoy. (I always double or triple the recipe)

I remember when I was a little girl my girlfriend's mother made sloppy joes with Campbell's vegetable soup, circa 1960.  It was sooooo good that I ran home and asked my mom to make it that way.  Never turned out the same!  I am going to try it some day!  The Ninja will be a good tool to use.
