I can so remember this being our breakfast on Christmas eve or Christmas day.

Sausage Pie

1 pkg. crescent rolls...separated into 2 long triangles

2 cups grated cheddar cheese

1 (8 ounce) pkg. Brown & Serve sausages...sliced

4 eggs...slightly beaten

3/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preheat oven to 425*. In a 9x13 inch pan, put the triangles of dough. Press 1/2 inch up the sides of the pan and seal perforations. Layer the cheese and sausage in the pan. Mix eggs, milk and seasonings. Pour over cheese and sausage. Bake 20-30 minutes or til a knife inserted comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve.

Nothing would beat those wonderful crescent rolls, but ages ago we used to butter the bottom of the casserole, then add a layer of bread slices moistened with milk, then do the rest as you say. Sometimes we'd add slices of tomato, sometimes keep the eggs whole.

Nowadays I couldn't imagine doing it without a few jalapeno slices. Living in So. Cal changed me forever.

I'm no longer in LA, but I put avocados on everything!

LBM, thank you so much for this recipe!!!!

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.
