I am making flat bread pizza tomorrow and have huge jars of sauce, no matter how much sauce I use there will be left overs which will probably go to waste.

Can I use a ripe farm grown tomato on the pizza or freeze the left over sauce

Thanks all right now it is too hot to boil water for past another night during the week

@I am still oxox When the tomatoes are fresh, it would be a shame to to use them. But you can also freeze the leftover jarred sauce.

It's perfectly fine to freeze.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

These are easy to make and freeze well.....

Pizza Muffin Cups

1 (8 count) can Flaky Grands Biscuits

1 (10 oz-13oz) jar pizza sauce

1 lb. ground beef, cooked (or meat of choice)

1 (4 oz) can sliced mushrooms, drained (optional)

Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Preheat oven to 350.  Halve each biscuit horizontally and press into 16 greased muffin cups.  Add a spoonful of pizza sauce into each one.  Add some meat and mushrooms.  Top with cheese.

Bake for 15-20 minutes.

When my husband was alive we did a lot of Sunday homemade pizza days. He worked in a relatives pizza place all through high school so knew what he was doing. In the summer we often used tomatoes from our garden instead of sauce.

Many of the pizza places around here have fresh tomatoes as an option.

I always buy Spring Vegey pizza from our Pizza place, it has red onion, ,black olives, green peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. It is delicious

When I make pizza sauce, I only make enough for 1 large pie:

1 14 1/2-oz can diced tomatoes with juice

1 6-oz can tomato paste

1 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/4 tsp garlic salt

1/2 tsp dried basil

Process everything in blender until desired consistency (I like to leave in some chunks of tomato).

I freeze sauce all the time.

I would think there is too much moisture in a fresh tomato.  I've learned the hard way not to put items on that will make a soggy crust.
