For me salt brings out flavor of most anything.

I remember my dad putting salt on both watermelon and tomatoes.  Don't think any of us kids did.

I love salt on cantaloupe and grapefruit.  I prefer watermelon plain, but salt on it tastes pretty good too.

I grew up eating it this way and just had some about an hour ago. I can't imagine it without salt!

Oh my yes, I was taught to do that so early in life I have no memory of not putting salt on it.  I do like it without as well but with is my favorite.

Yes, as kids that was the way we ate watermelon, we also used to put salt on lemons cut in half to eat and suck the juice, just thinking about it now makes me cringe!
