I have tasted it.  My mother always put salt on watermelon and black pepper on cantaloupe.

I prefer mine naked though.  I don't really like salt on anything.

Eaten it that way since I was a child.  I like the addition of the salt.

I always think of my Grandma, she would let me put sugar on tomato's and watermelon to get me to eat them as a kid because I was copying her putting salt on hers. Yes, now I put salt on both. Woman LOL

Reason being:  Salt activates the salivary glands, which in turn will also make the watermelon seem juicier than it already is.”

When I was a kid that is the only way we ate watermelon. And we also put salt on cantaloupe too. Must have gotten that from my Mom. She was a big watermelon and cantaloupe eater whenever they were in season.

I salt food when I cook, but the only food on my plate that gets salted are tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe and watermelon.  My Dr has suggested I eat a bit more salt.

I've always put salt on my watermelon, same with Cantaloupe and Honeydew!

We put salt on watermelon during my childhood. For some reason I started eating it plain after we married. Maybe my husband did not like it.

Salt is good on grapefruit, too. I have had people scoff at the idea. When they tried it, they liked it.
