Rao’s Snowy Day Soup & Sandwich Italian Style

We prefer homemade soups, but I like to have some pantry items for quick weekday meals.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 jar Rao’s Homemade Italian Wedding Soup
  • ½ Tablespoon butter
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • Sliced Ham
  • Sliced Provolone
  • ¼ Cup Roasted Red Peppers
DIRECTIONS

Heat soup according to directions.

Warm butter in a pan on the stovetop.

Layer ham, provolone, and roasted red peppers in between sourdough slices.

Place sandwich in heated pan and flip when cheese starts to melt.

Remove from pan once both sides are golden and cheese is melted.

Serve while hot and enjoy!

The Rao's soup has a LOT of sodium. READ the label. It would be better to make your own soup.

It would also be less expensive to make your own.  I haven't bought it in a while but they really capitalize on the reputation of Rao's sauces.

Rao's soup is vey expensive.  I looked at it at my grocery store and it's about $8 for one small jar.

I make my own soup...the old fashioned way starting with homemade stock and feeeze it.
