RECIPE FOR PORK LOIN IN CROCK POT?

I love roast pork (pork loin)

Anyone have a recipe that works in a crock pot?  I was over someones house for dinner the other night, and she made a pork loin in the crockpot, then she sliced it, and served it with gravy.
I can't seem to get the recipe from her.

Anyone can help?  I do not like shredded pork.  I am lookin for a pork loin crock pot, that would produce gravy, and I can slice it, and serve with gravy.

Thanks!

No recipe here but I'd like to know what people do to keep pork roasts moist in the crock pot.  Everytime I cook one the meat is so dry it chokes me.  I usually cook it with sauerkraut, and its like the long cooking time just pulls the moisture out of the meat.

A pork loin is a tender cut of meat and does not need to be slow cooked.  It can simply  be roasted in the oven or on the grill for about 25 min per pound at 350 degrees.  You can use a rub on it or brush on some sauce close to the end of the cooking time.

A pork shoulder roast is less tender and is typically cooked moist, low, and slow to tenderize it.  I use apple juice sometimes as the liquid for a nice flavor.

Well the pork roast the other night, was nice and moist.  It was cooked all day in the slow cooker.  I do not want to grill it or put it in oven.  Thats when it gets dry.

Looking for crock pot recipe.

A pork loin dries out only if overcooked which the crock pot does to everything.

Someone posted a crockpot pok roast recipe quite a while back. It just notes pork roast but does not say pork loin. I tired it & used a pork loin. We did not care for it. Did not like the taste of it & was also on the dry side.

Here is a peach pork loin recipe that's really yummy & not dry. We have made this in the oven & also on the grill & it's good either way. Think I will have DH make one on the grill this weekend. DH loves it with rice & puts the peach sauce on his rice.

Peach Pork Loin

•1 cup peach preserves
•2 tablespoons honey
•Juice of 1 small lemon
•1 boneless pork loin roast, about 3 pounds
•Salt and pepper, to

Preparation:

In a medium saucepan, combine the peach preserves, honey, and lemon. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Set aside.

Heat oven to 350°. Line a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with foil.

Sprinkle the pork roast with salt and pepper. Place the roast, fat side up, in the prepared pan. Roast for 1 hour.

Brush the roast all over with the peach glaze mixture. Continue roasting for about 30 to 40 minutes, brushing with glaze frequently.

A meat thermometer should read 160° when inserted in the center of the roast.

Serves 6 to 8

It's Sat & DH is making the peach pork loin on the grill today. Yum!!!

Re: RECIPE FOR PORK LOIN IN CROCK POT?

I do not own a crockpot.  My pork loins go in a 300 oven, covered, for 4-5 hours.   If I'm making BBQ, I cover the pork with a dark cola, brown sugar, onions, and chipotle peppers in adobo sauce.   If I'm making the pork to serve as a sliced roast, I add beef broth and onions to the pot.   At the end of the cooking time, I take the pork roast out to rest, bring the liquid in the pot to a boil, reduce if necessary, add my slurry to thicken for the gravy.   My oven roasted pork is never dry.

One of my wedding gifts over 40 years ago was a Sunbeam crocker, cooker, fryer which was an awesome kitchen appliance.   When it died, they were no longer being made, and I've never had the desire to add another slow cooker to my kitchen.

Yum, that looks good.

I do pork loin in the crock pot on occasion.  I think if you have enough liquid, it won't dry out.  Peaches with pork, delicious.  I like to do a mexican-style seasoning, like a 505 sauce, rotel, etc. MO

@RedTop You don't use pork loin for your bbq do you?

Your pork roast in the oven sounds delish. I have never ate it that way. I always brush pork loin roasts & pork chops with olive oil to help keep them from drying out.

Re: RECIPE FOR PORK LOIN IN CROCK POT?

@Nightowlz,

Yes I do use pork loin for BBQ most of the time.   I buy whole pork loins on sale, and cut pieces in different sizes for roasts, to slice for boneless chops, and to be cooked for BBQ.   My family is not fond of any other cut of pork for BBQ.
