Hiya @mustang66lady  (raises hand) yes me ME, I have zero interest in cooking or even really eating food right now!  Yikes, let the temperature get above 80 and somebody gets a bad case of the pouts . . . Smiley Sad

I just made a quick pasta salad to use up a pepper I bought for something I ended up not making (of course) so I guess it's that, burgers and BLT's for me (oh, and my endless supply of chips).

We started getting severe weather warnings about an hour ago (I'll believe it when I see it because they forecasted zero rain earlier today) but I am sure somebody is going to get something within a few miles around here.

I hope you are all safe and dry my friend!

@momtochloe

I'm so glad it isn't just me!   The weather doesn't really doesn't mean much to me; I started getting this way in colder weather and thought I would get better when we were eating more spring and summer like.  I keep hoping things will get better when gardens start producing but have to admit I'm losing faith in that thought.

No rain here today-clear, blue skies, 96 degrees and relatively low humidity for us.  But rain is predicted in the next day or two......

Hope things were safe for you and that the storms missed everyone-maybe just some rain on those farm fields that need it.

Happy Tuesday K-Team!

We have sun today but it is getting rather warm.  Humidity isn't too awful yet.  And of course, they are predicting more rain in some areas north of us today which doesn't sound bad but all that rain north, flows south.   We still have many, many roads that are under water.   DH had to travel to southern IL last week and took photos at one place on the highway-5 lanes each direction and only the middle lane of the 5 was passable-covered in water but not so much that deemed it dangerous.

Is anyone else tired of cooking?  I just can't seem to come up with ideas for cooler meals and even when I do, it always seems so late to try to get to the store to pick up ingredients, then get home to prepare the meal so that it is ready before midnight!   Just kidding but I really don't like eating too late, especially in warmer weather.   Have found us "old people" don't feel well eating later in the day.   Wow did that sentence make me feel super old!

In case someone missed it, eggs are advertised this week at Aldi's for .59 cents.  Will be getting another carton this week even though I don't need it too much.  Egg salad, deviled eggs, and I put hard boiled eggs in potato salad when I make it.  They will get used for sure.

I got 3 dozen!

you gotta try the smoked eggs if you haven't already!!

@RespectLife

On the list for the 4th holidays!   Sounds yummy!

I can take a LOT of heat, but that humidity is a deal breaker for me the older I get.   I got to give them a salute-I am NOT one of those silver hairs going to FL.  I would melt.  Now 120 in Phoenix is just very warm to me.  And that doesn't last all that long and unlike winter here, I never had to scrape something off my windshield or shovel the driveway.  If I am going to be uncomfortable/miserable for a few weeks a year, I choose Phoenix as the place for that to happen!

Ok, so here's the thing.  I noticed on the "menu" for the Q that you can peruse 26 pages of CIJ items.   I get excited looking at these items as I know, is the intention.  Am I the only one?   Sometimes when I do this, I almost feel like I am wishing my life away instead of taking joy in the summer and all it has to offer.   Yet, if you don't pay attention, you will either pay more as the season nears or the item(s) will be out of stock.  I started looking at these pages and already am starting to plan my Christmas holidays and menus!   What is wrong with me?!   I know I am causing myself undue stress.   Yet, for some reason, I can't help myself.   I don't watch the Q or any shopping channel as I once did, but dang it, this has me like a sheep to slaughter.

I started to go through the CIJ pages and then made myself STOP!  NO!  I don't need anymore!!!!  I figure if I don't look, I won't buy.  In reality, I wil prolly just pay more later like you said!  LOL

NO!!  I got new things the past 2 years when we moved in this house.  I have just the right amount of things for this house layout!

I DID order Mrs. Prindables for Thanksgiving though.  Rumor has it, I might have a large gang again.  We LOVE Mrs. Prind. but my beef with them was that they don't have a small enough set for 3-4 people.

The apples can perish quickly and just for my family, I waste them.  Too $$ to toss.  So for the past 2 years, I have not puchased...and heard about it big time from the kids.

Broke the tradition!

If we do get a crowd at Thanksgiving, I will def be able to use them up.  They had a good chocolate/PB set.  No one likes those sprinkle ones.  Just give us the chocolate!

I just got back from a quick Aldi run and "Everything" brioche hamburger buns and a nice little bag of bay scallops in the frozen section.  I had scallops on the brain when QVC had them on this weekend but didn't want to pay $140 so I happily grabbed my little bag for $4.99 . . . Smiley Happy

Oh and I bought that wreath with the yellow flowers.  Very nice, I love it.  Not sure it goes where I thought I was going to hang it but I may put it in the kitchen.

Happy Wednesday Kitchenettes!

Like @momtochloe , I returned home about an hour ago from Aldi's.  I missed those Everything brioche buns!  I did snag another carton of eggs though.  And hummus and chips, and a small watermelon.   The list goes on!

Summer came to St. Louis today.   It is sunny and clear right now and the air is so thick from the humidity, it slaps you in the face!
