Interesting trip to Aldi yesterday.

I had  passed up the "opportunity" to pay just under $4.00 for celery at our local Publix grocery, which I thought was rather outrageous.

Went to Aldi and got a gorgeous very fresh bunch of celery for............ahem...........$1.49.

Also couldn't pass up buying two large lined polyester tote bags for $5.99 each.

They're called City Totes and have round metal handles (covered with some cushion for make them more comfortable to carry).

I figure these totes will be good for shopping and for carrying my yoga mat and other stuff to the gym.  Didn't see  much of a selection of prints, so mine look a little more whimsical and  beachy than I'd like, but for the price, so what?

Good to see you @novamc1 !  Funny you mention Aldi as I was just coming to post my review on that little a/c unit.  I don't think I saw any tote bags like the ones you found at your Aldi but they sound terrific and more importantly extemely functional.  I know I found a cute little decorative piece that never showed up in any flyers I received so maybe they shift merchandise around not only store to store but region to region.  It would be nice if a couple of those showed up here!

As for that little a/c unit, I JUST LOVE IT!  Wow, what a bargain for $20.  It's getting muggier here but the temperatures are still relatively low so running my household a/c is a moot point right now.  Last night I plugged that little thing in after adding water I had chilled in the fridge and about 60 seconds later cool air and I mean cool and I only had it on low.  I ran it for about 5 minutes until I cooled off and was fine again for a couple of hours.  @ChiliPepper  I thought about what you said about adding small ice cubes and my mind flashed back to those silicone ice trays Aldi had a month or so ago.  I wish I had bought one of those slim ones made for water bottles as it would have been perfect for this!

I know, right!!! Cool (snicker, snicker) little dudey for 20 bucks huh?!!!

Did you read the part about running it on high for 5 minutes before you turned it off? I guess that's to dry out the filter. Makes sense, it would stay fresher longer if it wasn't wet all the time.

They're not kidding about moving it when there is water in it, it drips. We set DD's on a small, round plastic tray so we don't have to worry about it leaking on the furniture.

ooo...hot sauce and capers!  Great idea, thanks!  I have to try that sometime on just some of them, capers would never fly w/ the kids but I love them!

@RespectLife

Do you think they would notice if you dice or mince the capers up?   Do they not like the look of capers or the taste of them?   I really don't think they taste a lot different than olives.

HA!  Funny thing @mustang66lady

I went to put capers in yesty and DH had a spaz!  I put capers in a LOT of things....YEAH, I KNOW he says!  LOL

We smoked the hard boiled eggs yesty.

Make them your usual way.  Peel,  Then put them on the smoker rack whole.  Around 20-25 mins. at 225 or so.

After smoked, you can eat as a hard boiled egg...OR devil them.  We ate a couple then I devilled the balance.

The kids came over and finished the entire plate!  Told me to add them into all event menus!  So I guess they loved the smokey flavor!  They did turn into a brownish color but that apparently didn't off put the kids!

I don't know if I am late to this party but earlier I received a recipe for Maid-Rite loose meat sandwiches and decided to give them a try for lunch.  Wow are they good and very easy to make as it's all in the slow cooker:
