Do you think those frost quakes or whatever they called them that were happening in recent bad weather in CHI. caused this to happen? Hate to hear of this anywhere but on Lake Shore Drive? What a song and now that iconic road is in danger?! I sure hope they get things under control.

But he always lets her snuggle in. Roscoe is on his own-he isn't much of a lover and only really seeks shelter when he is in trouble. Then it's Buster to the rescue once again although Buster knows the next time he enters a room Roscoe is in, Roscoe is going to growl and snip at him like an intruder.
Oh @mustang66lady I love all of your furbabies but that Buster is a love!
What a sweet boy, please give him an extra strong hug and kiss for me tonight.

@mustang66lady I don't know if those frost quakes caused it but I am suspicious that it could be where they "straightened out' the dreaded "S" curve as the shots look to me to be in that area. Goodness only knows what type of construction was done there as the rest of CHI construction as rickety as it is (the next story after the LSD story was a chunk of concrete dropped on a car from a bridge). The reason why that story is funny is because "concrete dropping" happens all the time and is quickly fixed but I guess we draw the line at an I beam cracking. Sigh.

Those concrete chunks fall on roadways here sometimes too. Chunks falling and I beams cracking sounds way too much for me! Hope they get this fixed pronto though.
I'll see if I can get DH to show me how to post a photo so you can see Buster-of course, Jennie will be snuggled up with him! Have a warm night!

To our east coast friends, please be careful in that ice storm(s) heading your way. Everything here is coated, I can see the ice coating the balcony railing and tree limbs. Safe travels my friends! ![]()

@mustang66lady I'm glad you got home safe from your gs's game. I drove to the Detroit airport once in a snow storm and the sides of the roads were just littered with cars as people just abandoned their vehicles due to no snow plowing being done. Detroit is bankrupt, so they just don't have funds to do anything. I am just glad my little rental car made it through.

Nothing but lots of rain here. But no complaints. I don't have to shovel rain.

Good morning K-Team!
Cloudy here and we have had snow off and on but no accumulation. I think it should be clearing out of here by afternoon.
DH has lived everywhere including Montana, Nebraska, Alaska and NYC. He has dealt with all kinds of weather so nothing much bothers him. I have lived in this area all my life except for a very short time I got to live in Phoenix. The bridge we crossed over the Mississippi to get to MO is kind of rural and used by many as there is a big hospital just a few miles after you cross. Many folk from both sides of the river work there and I have a feeling a lot of those cars just got caught in the ice storm as they were heading to work. In fact I think that is what happened to most of the cars as there would be those heading into various work places and of course, many heading to church. It reminded me of that scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind when Richard Dreyfuss and Melinda Dillion were trying to get to Devils' Tower and the roads had the carcasses of dead animals lining the sides in an attempt to scare people away only we encountered abandoned and wrecked vehicles! Anyway, happy you are only getting rain-you sound a lot like me-I don't have to shovel rain or scrape it off my windsheild and windows.
